^ yes the VIN info will be helpful to understand if it's a new production build. 300xxx? 299xxx?

Just as a follow up, the MYP that's being picked up on Monday in Toronto is a 295xxx VIN.Just saw two folks on Reddit (on the October mega thread on r/TeslaModelY) mention receiving VINs for MYPs. West coast and Toronto.
Are they starting MYP production back up? Maybe? Hopefully? #SBJ
Good question, maybe someone screwed up new descriptions or maybe they started to do AP without FSD computer. Who knows.I feel like an idiot asking this question but here goes. Why does Tesla make it look like the $10k FSD package adds the FSD computer hardware? My understanding is all cars have this hardware. Seems a bit misleading.
Or it's marketing speak. Technically, is the FSD computer a computer without the software to run it as a FSD computer? I think Autopilot uses the hardware in low grade, so they may be technically referring to it as the Autopilot computer vs. the FSD computer. Until someone takes one of the new cars apart, we won't know for sure, as I bet Tesla won't be clarifying this for us anytime soon .Good question, maybe someone screwed up new descriptions or maybe they started to do AP without FSD computer. Who knows.
I got 2021. I thought about pushing back delivery for 2022 vin but at this point, I take anything! At this point IDGAF what my VIN is, but out of curiosity. 2021 or 2022?
what number did you get?I got 2021. I thought about pushing back delivery for 2022 vin but at this point, I take anything!
295xxxwhat is the number you get?
Very relevant given that a $200 monthly subscription is an option and I suspect most service appointments for a new computer upgrade (hypothetically) would be weeks out. I think it’s just an over the air update, but then saw the confusing description. Surely they did that to demonstrate the value you get with the FSD upgrade.Good question, maybe someone screwed up new descriptions or maybe they started to do AP without FSD computer. Who knows.
Or maybe they are trying to get around chip shortages this way I don’t see anything about Autopilot or mention of it anymore on the order page just FSD package details. Maybe I am blind lolVery relevant given that a $200 monthly subscription is an option and I suspect most service appointments for a new computer upgrade (hypothetically) would be weeks out. I have a feeling HOLD orders are prioritized. That’s why I’m not releasing my hold until I see 2022 vins. Previously when I released my hold I got a vin within 2-3 weeks while regular (MYP) orders had to wait 2-3 months.Received some feedback that my order history may be of interest here.
-Ordered MYP (White/ black int. w/ tow) approx. 09/01, website said November which was the timeframe I was aiming for.
-Received VIN super quick, approx. 09/15 with delivery about 10 days later.
-Was surprised because I thought if anything it would push out. Was not ready and asked to hold.
-Order put on hold for 30 days.
-Order shows off hold approx 10/15.
-On 10/18 already receive new VIN.
-Not quite ready and also VIN is 21’, ask to hold again.
-Order is put on hold for 30 more days.
-Currently account shows on hold until 11/19.
Not always, I released my hold in August when estimates were 4-6 or 5-7 weeks (so mid-late September), and my delivery date just got pushed back to mid November-early DecemberI have a feeling HOLD orders are prioritized. Thanks good to know. Is yours a MYP?Not always, I released my hold in August when estimates were 4-6 or 5-7 weeks (so mid-late September), and my delivery date just got pushed back to mid November-early December
Yup, MYP. I think the only upgrade was paint to midnight silver, the rest is standard. Thanks good to know. Is yours a MYP?
I released mine in late August and got a vin within 2 weeks. That’s when I placed the current 6 months hold.
pretty much, check out the spreadsheetHow do you guys determine a VIN is "old" or "new"? Is it sequentially increased from 000 all the way to 301 in a given model year?
Can confirm OTA update. I tried it out of curiosity last week. It was available within minutes of paying the $200. I will be cancelling it before the next bill though. At this point in development it isn't much different than AP. Although I do really like the green light chime for those times I get distracted looking over at the beach.Very relevant given that a $200 monthly subscription is an option and I suspect most service appointments for a new computer upgrade (hypothetically) would be weeks out.
