He's trying to sell a non running salvage car that needs 2 doors, a quarter panel and side-curtain airbags (at least) for $33k? Good luck with that!
And my bet is that the B-Pillar is damaged as well.

What was the price paid?
Based upon communication with the seller, he probably paid $28k.
He might get lucky and find another moron willing to buy it for that or more...
Otherwise I'd expect it to take a few months before he gets tired of his lawn-ornament and comes back to reality.
Just a heads up for un-initiated:
$28k is more than half the cost of a CPO, even if you possess the technical skills to rebuild it (thus labor becomes $0), you will likely end up paying more than the cost of a CPO in finding parts.
If labor is not free, you're better off buying a new model S.
He paid even less than that.
My labor costs are about 1$ per hour for personal stuff. 500$ per hour for friends and family.
Do you leave fingerprints on all your friends?
only the females... hiyoooooo
just kidding. I'm married so I wipe them off.
UPDATE
Did something I probably should have done around the time I was thinking about the car.
Called my insurance company to see if they would insure it.
Here is how the convo went
BTR - "hey can I insure this car? its a Tesla vin # xxxxxxx"
Agent - "oh God its not a roadster is it??!"
BTR - "nope, model S"
Agent - "oh ok, because we can't insure those"
BTR - "ok good, its a model S"
Agent - "is it a model S?"
BTR - "yes its a model S"
Agent - "ok, but we can't sure the roadsters"
BTR - "ok good, because its a model S"
Agent - "oh so it IS model S?"
BTR - "yes"
Agent - "would you like me to send you the list of cars we can't insure"
BTR - "sure why not"
Agent - "ok, Ford GT, Lexus LFA, Maybachs...."
BTR - ".......I was told this would be forwarded to me"
Agent - "Morgans, Saleens, Spykers, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Tesla Roadsters......"
BTR - "very comprehensive, thank you, how much to insure?"
Agent - "You know I was looking at the i3........"
BTR - "Those are hideous, how much to insure the model S ?"
Agent - "are you aware it has a salvage title?"
Wait, this thread wasn't about a roadster?
Its about a roadster and my quest to figure out if it can be insured
Roadster owners have gotten insurance with their salvage cars.
