Has anyone noticed security guards now being stationed at super charger stations?
No, but I'm not going to complain
Are they hired by Tesla or the property owner?
Maybe because of this?
Multiple CA Supercharger locations down in past 5 months: breakdowns, vandalism, or theft?
Maybe something happened at those locations.
There was a security guard at the Buena Park location....
Literally, just sitting there.. on a chair.. watching the super charger station.
I've seen Tesla employees at crowded locations to be there to move cars in and out to increase throughput but no security guards yet.
Well, it is Buena Park...
a security guard at these stations would be a small price to pay vs the cost of the station going down and/or replacement parts.
Often wondered why they don't set up IP Cameras at the Super Charger Locations?
After all the super chargers are remotely controlled and monitored. So why not add Video to the mix.
In case of Vandalism of equipment or owners cars while they are being charged.
This would also be helpful in managing busy locations.
24hours x (cost of security guard) x 365 days?
Small price you say?
Have not seen a security guard but there were 2 Tesla ID'd service reps with a van roaming the stalls, asking each driver if they needed any assistance while charging. I had not seen onsite service before............I need to remember my wipers need help.
Probably Exxon employees....
Well, yes. "Square-badge" guards are $12-$15/hr even in cities.
This guy claims to have seen one at buttonwillow (california) URL="Multiple CA Supercharger locations down in past 5 months: breakdowns, vandalism, or theft?"]Multiple CA Supercharger locations down in past 5 months: breakdowns, vandalism, or theft?[/URL]
Yes.. multiply that times all the super charger stations ...
If I was a Tesla shareholder, I'd be concerned...
Even as a present Tesla owner.. this concerns me..
as this takes away financial resources away from what the company needs to handling "security"...
I'm both but I've got much more important things to be concerned about than something as trivial as this.
Nest Cam... one and done
all a camera would do is record the thefts or vandalism.
Or the camera would also be vandalized or stolen.
