Solid Black or Obsidian Black

Very quick question to obsidian black owners out there - does it still look metallic black in full sun or does it suddenly get a dark blue look?

One of the other owners around here has an obsidian black car and we sometimes joke with him that in the right light, it looks like the old green.

oh no... i saved up years ago and brought a bmw and the colour was called jeraz black. it always looked blue and i wasnt happy
i have a obsidian black on order but i can change it to solid black
I am worried it wont look black all the time.... i dont want the same problem as my m3... i just want a car that always looks black

Saw the Obsidian Black in Mountain View last week and it looked great. Metallic looking vs a matte black. Was told the obsidian would hide finger prints, scratches etc better. I would agree.

I have a solid black Model S and I LOVE the way it looks WHEN it is clean. I wash every week, wax once a month, and it looks really good right after...Though it shows dirt, prints, etc a lot, SO, if I could do it again I would get Obsidian...

I read somewhere on line that an Obsidian Black owner said it can look “purple” in strong sunlight. No experiance with this in person. It’s just somthing I read.

I love my obsidian black. In really strong light it just looks almost like it shimmers. Does not look green or purple. I love it, really stands out.
