SR Not Plus Waiting Room

This article from Consumer Reports confirms that the SR at $35K does NOT include Autopilot (at least according to the Tesla spokesperson they spoke with). Of course that doesn’t change the fact that several posters have confirmed placing orders for $35K and receiving an order confirmation showing Autopilot being listed as a feature. I continue to believe it is an error, and the company did not intend to include Autopilot for $35K. I have no idea how they plan on handling the orders they have taken so far. This will be interesting to see how it plays out.

even at 37k, it's still a good deal, considering you get the same seats as SR+/premium. seems like only difference is no heated seats. all the other software limited stuff they mentioned for SR is also limited in SR+ anyway.

although if SR w/AP is 37k, why is SR+ w/AP 39.5k? shouldn't SR+ w/AP = 39k?

The SR+ is a 2.5K upgrade and not a 2K upgrade like before. So with 2.5K upgrade and 2K autopilot, it comes out to 39.5K.

I just downgraded from SR+ to SR (2016 reservation and March 2018 order) and it shows that it is 35K on my reservation page. No autopilot listed in the build. I'm going to take a shot and call to ask about it. Hopefully, they can add it for me :)

Hey guys, I think I found a work around without the need to call tesla. For those who have the $35K without autopilot, go to your vehicle page and click on "Edit Design" along the right column. From there, don't edit anything (unless you want to) since it will maintain your 35K version of the car. Go to autopilot and you will noticed it stated included. Go to the update design and it will now list your 35K model 3 with autopilot in the build. Hope this helps others.

AZ Phone rep said they would send it to order modify ops. Once they change the order I'm hoping it will be $35K w/ AP like others in this thread.

I added AP from the web page. if the price doesn't update I'll ask them to take it off b/f delivery and take my chances..

I have the identical config ordered on 2/28, no reservation. Price still shows as $44,500 for me. Will update if that changes today.

My config was updated a few hours later, after talking to my delivery specialist. Went from 44.5k to 41k. Fantastic!

Although... only the webpage is updated. My order agreement is still the same. Not sure if that makes this a little less official?

Mine was changed from SR+ to SR on the website around 5PM PST (I called to downgrade it around 11am today). My guess is that it will not include autopilot, but you can edit the design and update it yourself to include autopilot like I did (see previous post). Good luck.

I have 4000 posts and I contribute for less than you at 4 post. :)

Great sleuthing. I can confirm this works.

Now we wait to see how Tesla proceeds.

I am fully expecting to need to pay 2K for AP because 35K SR with SR+ interior is more than fair.

Did you get an email with the updated Order Agreement? I got both of mine that were modified today. I downgraded from SR+ to SR and got an email with the agreement. I then edited my build to add the free autopilot and it sent me an updated order agreement. The order agreement on the webpage also shows up with the correct one (35K SR with autopilot).

Yeah, good luck. But they tend to update the price later; it is not final until you get the sales agreement.

No, just the sudden change to the account page. I didn't actually downgrade though. Just a price adjustment for my original order with SR in Blue with AP and FSD.

mine does not quite work like this. it always shows the design without autopilot listed, but they added a button on my page that says "upgrade autopilot" and when I click it, it shows autopilot included, and asks if I want to upgrade to full self driving. When I exit out of everything my design still does not show autopilot, but does not show it missing either. I'm not too worried since it seems that it is going to be a part of the car that gets delivered. I'm super stoked about the upgrades and looking forward to delivery.

i think vinty's way only works for SR+ downgrades. You're an "original" SR.

Did you apply the update? I should of mentioned you need to finish and process the changes. Exiting out will not save the added AP.

Also, do you have a VIN assigned? My steps were for those with no VIN assigned and waiting on delivery.

It should work for original SRs too. My reservation page showed the SR like how others would have SR. I was able to edit mine since I don't have a VIN assigned and was able to go through the process to add AP. When I tried again with AP now in the build, it shows my price a $0 instead of $35K so not sure if they caught on or if it's cause I already have the $35K with AP.
