Super Charger Adapter for US cars in Europe

Yes, when you hear about the international standards that are a part of CharIN, they are called Type 1 and Type 2, but they have those other common names too:

Type 1 = J1772
Type 2 = Mennekes

Tesla did use the Type 2 inlet for the charge ports for the European cars right from the beginning, and used it for the original plugs on the Superchargers in Europe. They are going through some retrofitting and switching right now to go toward the full CCS conversion in Europe.

The US Tesla proprietary plug would have been a really, really bad idea to use in Europe

Unless they got their act together and made all cars with DC only ports. Then make an adapter with the 3 or 2 phase charger built in. That way you can choose to leave it at home when you expect use the plug as a pure DC charging. Having every car carry a non removable charger makes little sense, they should have all cars take DC only at the port. It's not a lot of weight so the adapter/charger would be easy to carry and we have one less thing to go wrong with the car.

One thing I think EVs went the wrong direction on. Would be nice to have a world standard.

This is illegal* per the current laws in EU and thus not possible.

JN

*(illegal as in the vehicle would not comply with the local regulations as mandated by the law and thus, would not receive type certification)

The charger is actually pretty large and would be extremely cumbersome to have to carry around with you if you wanted to charge via AC.

It fits under the rear seats

Did anyone upgrade from 48 to 72 Amps?

So does US to type2 or us to supercharger adapter exists? And where to buy it?
There are a few kinds of things like this, and EVSEAdapters sells them.

There is an adapter for the European Superchargers to the U.S. charge port for the lovely price of $777.
They also have Type 2 to Type 1 adapters for AC charging.
And they have one for CCS 1 to CCS 2.
