I’m not an EE, but is the DC output in kW simply equal to 2,000KVA / 24 posts? Or do you have to multiply by sqrt(3)?So a 2000kVa transformer it is. Full site limited to 83kW per post.
From my understanding, neither. You have to multiply kVa by the power factor, which for DC fast chargers is really close to 1. Such that I just call kVa and kW interchangeable for these purposes.I’m not an EE, but is the DC output in kW simply equal to 2,000KVA / 24 posts? Or do you have to multiply by sqrt(3)?
Sq rt 3 is to convert from 3 phase amps to kva/kw. In this case it would be 1.73 x A x 480 / 1000 = 2000. A = 2400 . If you already know kva or kw, you don’t need the conversion factor.I’m not an EE, but is the DC output in kW simply equal to 2,000KVA / 24 posts? Or do you have to multiply by sqrt(3)?
Each stall being 100kw is false. The total power available decided by the number of stalls will average 100kw but that is only if every car plugs in at the same time at a low state of charge. These are 250kw V3 like every other V3 cabinet and stalls. My wife and I stopped at Caldera Brewery for a "happy hour" bite yesterday, and talked with a gentleman who said he worked for "the property owner". He told us each stall will be 100kW, as has already been posted, this site is close. We snapped a few pics too (see below). He also told us that it would be open in the next month for sure. We travel weekly from Redding, CA to Gold Beach, OR. So this will be the new meal spot, and the beer is good too!
We have also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right across the street, and it is nice too. But seriously.....next to a Brewery...can a Supercharger location get any better? Bring a DD for sure!
That makes sense......I don't think the guy that "worked for the property owner" understands V2 and V3. Those of us that charge do. I really try and only use V3 chargers. Each stall being 100kw is false. It’s not a supercharger destination until there are porta potties and a coffee and donuts truck.
How many of us just checked their phone? No proof yet, but it just went live 15 minutes ago
Lol I’ll go charge and get a picHow many of us just checked their phone?
I always love new SC startup charging discounts!
All the superchargers in southern Oregon are ~.20kWhI always love new SC startup charging discounts!
