Good news, looks like city of Auburn has issued permit for SC @ Super Mall.

Not sure what next steps are.

It’s crazy how long this stuff takes. 4 months from application to issuance.

The address they give is the generic address that applies to pretty much the whole mall, so it’s Hard to tell where in the parking lot this will be built. I circled the outer loop of the parking lot on Sunday and didn’t see anything, but it is a very large lot.

Yeah but looks like a large area of parking spots fenced off

They've been pouring concrete. It's mostly blocked off and security was around but it's definitely parking spots with holes at regular intervals along the back side.

Definitely looks like a good spot to me. I see the Nordstrom’s entrance in the photo background, so right along that entrance road between Nordstrom’s and BBB. Probably right here: Google Maps

I circled the area. The company was named something I don't remember but it was like Technology Innovations or something that made it sound like they deal with this sort of thing. I live near here and pass by to get to work. I'll keep an eye on it.

Just a little inside baseball, sewer vac trucks are commonly used in construction to suck up pea gravel under concrete or asphalt. Way faster than digging and way safer than hitting buried power, gas, telephone.

This is a busy parking area for the mall due to proximity of Nordstrom Rack, high ICE blocking probability. Seems like they could have positioned a little further from the entrance to avoid issues. Oh well glad it is coming.

What I’m more concerned about is the latest trend of smaller buildings being built on the parking spaces not being used.....

Not sure about this location, haven’t been there lately either, but other malls have done this (Everett, alderwood, northgate, etc) as real estate gets more scarce and $$$
