Supercharger - Blenheim

Finally, a new site for the South Island! This is in addition to Kaikoura, so once it's completed, all Tesla's should be able to get from Dunedin to Cape Reinga using just Superchargers.

This Blenheim site will also have 3 ChargeNet Hyperchargers which can charge 6 EVs, so it's a bit of a charging hub. It looks like work has already started, at least for the Hyperchargers so far (pic taken from the Facebook EV group). As with other recent Supercharger pins, this one is also located as it is on Tesla's map.

Just did the AKL -> DUD mission (second time). Biggest pain is easily the Wellington -> Chch part. In Picton the car says 'turn around and charge in Johnsonville' despite being on 96% and being on another island! It's almost embarrassing that the car can't even recommend a 3rd party to charge when you're SOL and in an area with no chance of a supercharger. Have charged both directions in Kaikoura at the in town Chargenet plug and New World - both are fast enough but as theres only one CCS at either you could be waiting for a spot - not ideal when heading the Ferry.
The lack of one in Dunedin is also extremely lame as there is also a shortage of even Chargenet spots and none from BP/Z yet.

Tesla only recognise Tesla products... like Apple.
Maybe someday in future they will realise that there is advance world out there with 3D buildings on map and so many non-tesla fast chargers (some even free) and navigation systems choosing correct lane when driving.... but that's for future...

It’s more than a year since Tesla stopped installing dual plug Superchargers. If you have a Model S or X and haven’t had the CCS2 adapter upgrade, I would get it done before your next Roadtrip.

tbh, I'm surprised that this site ended up being a V3 stall site considering they've started going with V4 stalls in Australia now. Maybe the Hornby site will be V4.

Only one of the nine Australian sites open/ under construction this quarter is V4.
