Question: who’s feeding the pipe?maybe crowdsource to put in some level 2's in the meantime
There are already like a dozen level 2 chargers (RV parks, etc) along that route.maybe crowdsource to put in some level 2's in the meantime
I believe nwdriver partnered with a couple local McDonalds in New Mexico; the gofundme payed for the equipment and the host business pays the electricity.Question: who’s feeding the pipe?
I’ll still pitch in $100 if anyone wants to get a go fund me started.
If only our 3's could take 80A..Even a CSS charger in the area with a future CCS1 adapter by Tesla would be appreciated. A 16 KWh L2 charger would be at least something. I’d just use that for lunch or dinner and get a top up which is all I think necessary to make it to Trinidad.
Help may be on the way. I have no idea of the timeline, but this list of projects funded by NM's share of VW settlement money (as of April 2020) includes 2 DCFC in Des Moines, NM:

If they are 350kW CCS chargers and lots of digging is required, that wouldn't be completely unreasonable. That's crazy. $300k for a pair of DCFC. I bet they'll be charging ~$0.50/kWh.
I prefer free.If they are 350kW CCS chargers and lots of digging is required, that wouldn't be completely unreasonable.
If we get Allsups on board with EVs, it's game over in New Mexico!Damn! All those Allsups! Carlsbad, Hobbs, Roswell....Vaughn?!?! Tatum!?!?
Don’t get my hopes up.
Allsups is legit, Their chimi's are kickass. If Allsups gets on board it’s game over in NM and TX. There’s almost as many Allsups in this area as there are Superchargers in CA! I hope that whatever they install (CCS), we’ll be able to get an adapter.
I never would have guessed Allsups. They’ve always seamed like the dirtier/dingy service center compared to the modern Loves and Pilot/FJ. Still better than Stripes. btw do NOT eat the Mexican food at Stripes unless you have access to a bathroom for the next 24 hours.. don’t ask how I know.
IMHO Pilot dropped the ball by not installing chargers when they constructed all the new truck stops. It seams like there is a new Pilot every 20 miles. So good on Allsups in NM for picking up the slack.
I’m just going by Tesla’s page:If only our 3's could take 80A..
