Supercharger - Dayton, OH

I drove over to check on progress today. They are making progress. A large electrical contractor truck towing a trailer was just leaving when I arrived. There are two Tesla banners. One can be seen from I-75. Here is a panoramic picture of the site. You can see how close it is to Chipolte and Meijer. If you zoom in, you can see two areas of construction. The one on the left appears to be where they are tapping into the power line. The one in the middle, with the banner, is where the spaces will be.

Couple of new photo's from 9/23 showing the progress.

8 Charger bays and it looks like a mess of wires coming from the ground.

This is great picture of the connections under an Equipment Enclosure. The Distribution Center will go in the back. On the back right are the conduits from the Utility Transformer to the Distribution Center that will carry the 3-phase, 480 Volt service, one conduit each for the 3 phases, neutral, and ground. On the back left are the 4 conduits, one to each Supercharger Cabinet, for the 3-phase, 480 Volt input to the Superchargers. 4 Supercharger Cabinets will go in the front. Each Supercharger Cabinet will have an AC in on the left and 2 DC outputs on the right, each DC output feeding one Charging Pedestal, for a total of 8 Charging Pedestals.

What are these Tesla Banners? All I've ever seen at an SC is the Name on top of each arch.

They have a Tesla banner out front facing the Chipotle, but I didn't take a picture of it. I'm sure the Tesla logos will be added to each of the superchargers stations.

They would not give me an estimate on completion time. I said 3-4 weeks and the supervisor said sure maybe without a commitment.

Outstanding reporting IBCS!

I notice that we are not even on the "Coming Soon" map. I hope Tesla has a grand opening event like they did in Macedonia. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of owners were there. I even made it from Dayton with my 60, but I had to stop at Easton for a boost. I would like to see some press coverage for Meijer, who has really helped the cause in the Midwest.

I think you are going to see a lot more Meijer Superchargers throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes. Being open 24/7 and in a pretty secure parking lot makes me feel a lot better about charging with my family along for the ride. Meijer is expanding quickly. Doug Meijer is also a fellow Tesla owner. I would assume he will be getting a new P85D soon as well.
