Supercharger - Lexington, MA (RT-128 NB service plaza)

Great heads up @Farmer, I stopped by (on my way back from Lynnfield). The parking bay (13 spaces) closest to Rt 128 has been fenced off, signs for Heidrea construction. There's a cut in the pavement leading up to the median, which has been partially stripped of sod. The isolated loop @Cryptoengineer identified is being used as a staging area, there are 8 pedestal bases (?) some conduit and a couple of Kubotas (with Heidrea markings) over there, but no actual diggings.

@MarcoRP @tes-s Lexington ready for a cone on supercharge.info!

That's about as far as they can get from the services in the main parking area, but its still going to be subject to ICEing, based on the aerial photos on Google.

We really need a law to make parking in a charging spot without charging a towable offense.
It's not strictly an EV issue, but MADOT ought to reclaim that staging area and use it to increase parking. This rest area is really crowded as is. It also looks like the Commonwealth of MA owns land behind the rest area up to the ramp in the back. Perhaps they could expand that way too if there are no covenants or restrictions.

I stopped by Fri around noon. Not much showing but talked to supe. He said they are now finished burying the main power from the poles in back of the rest stop to the site. Eversource has to add another pole from where they pick it up. He estimated they will be done with their work by 07/04 and then everyone can wait for Eversource. He also said they are not working on any of the other new sites nearby; Tesla has 4-5 contractors they use to mix & match.

Today, Wed 06/30, around noon. Spoke to contractor. Cannot see any change at site but the work is at the rear of the rest stop, and burying the mains feed is not yet complete. Most of the the last 2-½ weeks has been difficult: everything has to be encased in concrete, concrete co’s backlog is weeks long, and working around the traffic difficult. Almost done with this phase, although still waiting on Eversource to add another pole. Should see a lot more progress on the site itself by end of week.

No significant progress this week. The trench for the cable goes to the back SE corner of the rest area, ending under a large green utility hatch. In the main area, I think they removed some more sod.

The weather this week has been awful, starting with upper 90s, and on Thursday turning to dangerous storms. Friday it rained heavily. Absolutely terrible conditions for working outdoors.
