Tesla app / account for multiple drivers?

Be aware that the app regularly resets itself and requires password to log in. So wife should know the password, just in case.

I have horrific to remember password-manager generated passwords on all my accounts (including Tesla), so that does not sound good. I should probably make the Tesla account password simpler anyway, so that I can use the "drive the car with just your phone" feature (which asks for the password). I've been avoiding trying that because the password is such a PITA to type manually.

The App supports Touch ID if you have an iPhone. That might be helpful for the driving feature? Not sure, never used that part.

I was in the same situation with my wife a month ago when we took delivery. She created her own account after downloading the app on her phone, but the car wasn't linked to her email address. I had to send an email to [email protected] with the VIN + her email address and they granted her mobile access. They can also do it over the phone. I brought this up to my delivery specialist afterwards, who said that they normally ask people to share the same login/password, which isn't very secure in general (except maybe with your partner). My DS wasn't aware that additional Tesla accounts can be granted mobile access.

Thanks guys. I will have her setup an account and link it to the VIN.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I don't really trust 3rd party password managers on android. There have been just too many vulnerabilities..

With a local password manager (1Password, using a file) you should be fine. The file is encrypted using a master password, unless you're using a 3rd party keyboard or have allowed root access you should be fine. I personally don't use the cloud syncing ones.
