The reason Giga Texas is building a Model Y Standard Range with 4680 cells instead of a Long-Range version is that 4680 cell production is slow and SR has a 68 kWh battery instead of 82 kWh for LR. So, fewer cells are needed which means they can make more cars.

I dont think orders will open today. They are focused on Cyber Rodeo and the reveal of the Standard AWD Y. Also they only gave the prices to industry on Wednesday so will probably let them digest more.
Does anyone remember how long it was between the model 3 Sr+ & P- was made live to order and then when the model 3 LR was made live? I vaguely remember it being only a few weeks or a month before you could order a LR, but I can't remember exactly.
Maybe the model Y will follow a similar timeframe

About a month here I think, certainly before any cars delivered.

So annoying, there will a total influx of white cars because its like $4500 cheaper. Not a fan of the white, looks like an egg.
