This seems more likely than only a couple of thousand employees ordering cars. I expect they had more than a couple of thousand orders from employee family members alone.

I think the "First Production" threw a wrench in some employee plans.

There may be plenty of employee cars that will be built when the smaller battery/non-premium interior are available.
