Tesla shocks Buckeyes football player?

A friend sent this to me yesterday. A college athlete says his Tesla shocked him just by touching the door while it was charging. He sends me an update today where the player got an electrician and said someone sabotaged his “box” (Nema cut off?) and reversed the ground with hot to try and hurt him. Would his car even charge if it was reversed?

This doesn't sound right to me. Ground is not connected to the car at all.

Neither the UMC or Wall Connector will 'wake up' with the hot and gnd flipped. The EVSE must be 'awake' to allow AC current to flow.

If this happened during the winter I would suggest that maybe he had just walked across carpet in wool socks?

If something is wired incorrectly, the vehicle will not initiate a charging session. Which means the contractors in the charger will not close and no power would be flowing.

I’ll never say never, but this is highly implausible.
