I realise that a few people are wailing and tearing at their beards because the DEMs didn't flip the Senate and Biden, if he wins, will find it very difficult to get legislation passed - will sit on McConnell's desk like the other 350 bills they didn't treat.

However, the standing of the USA on the World stage will appreciate greatly, sanity and stability will return to American politics. This is good for everyone, I think. I'll take it as a starter.

TBH, (just my opinion yall) I find the country often seems to function best when there is a D pres and R legislator. Late 90s and 2010-2016 were pretty politically stable overall with good economic growth and declining/improving budget deficits.

There is no way this wraps up in any neat and tidy way today. I expect lawsuits, recounts, and scorched earth tactics we can't even image to drag this out and drag the markets down. I'm afraid we are just getting started. :(

Agreed. Trump started that process last night when he claimed he had won but shady things happened. What he said at 2:30am made it clear he will not accept a loss and will do everything he can to stay in office.

A lot of people expressed that assuming Biden become president but Senate remains in Republican's hand, then bills could be sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk and possible TSLA friendly legislation has no chance to pass.

This is not how USA political system works.

House of Representatives could initiate a bill with hundred items inserted, one being TSLA friend bill, Senate cannot just shelf the whole bill because of one item, no matter how much they hate it. Then it become political horse trading, how much money I can give you to build that bridge to no where, how much military order I can guarantee that factory in your district so you can turn around to face your constituent and say "even though I hate the EV subsidy line item, but this money that I will get is just so sweet....",

The reason Obama was powerless during his years was because both house and senate were controlled by Republicans so he really could not do anything.

But as far as house is in Democrat's hand, then political dealing is live and well. There used to be time that past presidents made close to 100 phone calls per day to senators and congressmen gathering the support for their legislative initiatives.

Of course, Biden win is a big IF to me.

I'd say at this point Biden win is about 80% likely

Does Trump have any legit recourse outside of PA, which Biden probably does not need?

Trump has no legal recourse anywhere, including PA. The most he can do is ask for a recount and that's up to the states unless the result is within a certain percentage. He's a dog that can bark but has no actual power to bite.

If Biden wins, Trump has no power to stop the process of swearing in a new president in Jan. He effectively becomes powerless the moment it happens......even if he refuses to come out of the white house.

Legit? I don't have enough knowledge to say. However, I expect it to be a drawn out process with legal actions, media drama, and more polarization of thr populace so that by the time Biden takes office, a sizeable portion of the population claims it was stolen from Trump.

I hope I'm wrong on this

They're recounting WI, but 21k votes is a pretty big margin, it's not like the 500 "hanging chads" that scuppered Gore.

Isn't there some saying about lameness?

I pretty much expect a recount in WI, MI, NV, and PA.

Not going to change the results but will delay confirming Biden.

Biden has moved ahead in MI, now 25k - I'm using this site, which seems to have fresher data than many others: DDHQ Election Results

You have to register, but I just used the FecesBook login

Still scratching my head how what's looking like a likely Biden win could be seen as negative for Tesla (and renewables), the Senate being held by GOP looked very likely hours ago, it's only since Biden flipped MI that the stock go hammered.

Or it could just be the MM's - if they'd let it run 4-5% up from yesterday's close then they'd be needing to delta-hedge $450, which they may need to anyway, if it breaks-out from the strangle-hold.

Canada just released plans to increase immigration to 500,000 per year of qualified immigrants and our normal quota of refugees. Our vetting system though makes it tough to immigrate unless you have a skill set or education.

if you have a multicultural mindset and enjoy hearing dozens of languages spoken everyday you are welcome. Best to have a bit of a socialist side though. It’s kind of our thing. Has worked well for our family.

cheers.
Canada is a piece of cake to get into compared Japan and other SE Asian countries.
