I care more about the mission than I do the stock price, and I'm NOT retired like many here. I would like to become wealthy from the stock, but greed should be kept in check. The mission is more important.

How does taking Tesla engineers away from their important work and having review code at Twitter further the mission?
Exactly.

If Elon succeeds in transforming Twitter into what he envisions--an antidote to disinformation about Tesla and everything else--it will further the mission. It will be better than a Tesla PR department because it will be self-funding and more effective.
I have to laugh at this, because by all measures, Elon has singlehandedly alienated quite a large part of the world population by getting involved with Twitter.

I mean- he literally does

The CEO had a fiduciary duty owed to shareholders to act in their best interests.
Yep!

He's just alienating super left leaning early adopters. And I get it, you really have to be super progressive to drop 6 figures on a car with zero charging network, barely any service centers, unproven ability for company to stay alive, and having multi year wait. There are not too many folks in this category and I see people here supported him can't even fathom at the thought that Elon is voting Republican.
The fact that he's voting Republican isn't the issue. I wouldn't be surprised if the CEOs of most auto manufacturers do as well.

But most of the top-brass at those companies aren't naive enough to politicize and polarize your products and companies in a highly polarizing political environment.

Elon says he knows he's doing a good job when both both the left and the right are evenly pissed off (never mind that it's very clear which side is more angry).

I would rather he not piss off anyone at all.

Make friends, not enemies - make Tesla the company EVERYONE wants a piece of - whether it's the automobile or energy product.

Then Tesla succeeds AND the mission succeeds AND everyone lives happily ever after.

For those who do
Yes

Elon doesn't owe us anything. I complain some because I disagree with some of what he says but that doesn't mean I have any right to tell him how to spend his money or his time.

I care more about the mission than I do the stock price, and I'm NOT retired like many here. I would like to become wealthy from the stock, but greed should be kept in check. The mission is more important.
agreed. It’s really pathetic seeing the behavior of people here.

You’re responsible for your own situations, whether it’s needing to sell stock for life purchases (never invest more than you’re willing to lose) or going too fast and loose with options (casino gambling).

Teslas fundamentals are doing great, and whatever argument you can create for needing a higher stock price I can feasibly counter argue. At the end of the day we’re all collectively power-less to do anything, and ascribing so much of your life/emotions to something you don’t have control over is psychologically unhealthy behavior.

Send the effing downvotes. Guess what? They don’t really mean anything.

Teslas going to be the largest company in the world sooner than most realize. I’m here for the ride, and look forward to reflecting on these times when so many people whined their way out of the greatest risk-adjusted investment we will probably see in our lives.

I look on Twitter and once loyal Elon fans are moving away from him in droves. This is getting scary.

This is getting bad very fast.
Loudmouth virtue signalers who feel the need to announce their departure like it’s a train station I’m not worried about. They’ll be back and they’ll give Elon another $250 order fee for the trouble.

And even if they don’t, Who needs fairweather fans? In the words of Rick Sanchez (whom we know EM is a fan of):

You sounds like parody but I'm not sure, I got a real life reaction for you here

PS Dont sugar me due to the clickbait title

Reminds me of all the Americans saying they are moving to Canada every time Republicans won the White House.

Except I have been living in Canada for most of the last 35 years and still waiting for these Americans to show up.

Relax. Tesla's mission statement is to advent sustainable transport. So what if a vocal minority saying they are buying another EV. It is perfectly ok since they are not buying another gas car. These customers are helping desperate OEM to survive and at the same time they will experience inferior EV experience.

Besides it's not like legacy automakers have a chance to catch up.

Yep, I give up. Sorry @Gigapress, @The Accountant and others whose valuable posts get lost in a sea of posts about Twitter, jokes and politics.

Live long and prosper
🖖

Sorry to hear :(. We complain about some mods, but we even drive away the good mods though I believe most agree moderation is badly needed.
IMHO this is only solved by more consequential enforcement - moving posts helps everyone read the thread, but doesn´t hurt people spamming.

Elon just said that Twitter is now going to be the most valuable company in the world. Previous to Twitter, he has said the same of Tesla. So which one is it?

If it becomes wechat of the globe and the new payment infrastructure (like ach) using technology like blockchain, sure anything’s possible. Narrow pathway but it exists.

Or maybe it’s merged with tesla as part of X (that you originally called out lol) 😉
