Holy Cow. This is awesome. I recently started a Tesla fan club and I need to get some material like this. We will be doing meets at various stores around Savannah and other areas. Right now, we only have 8 members, but about to get a couple more.

I am not a car club person, but there is a ton of market potential all over the Southeast. I just want to do whatever I can to get the truth out there and acquaint people with Tesla. Any help or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to my public dropbox. Dropbox - Public - Simplify your life I have a Questions.docx and a Questions_3.docx that have the common questions people have on the cars as I am often flooded with people/questions and this allows me to reach more people. I print two copies on two sides and then have it laminated, about $1. Then I put them under the windshield wipers. This makes them more durable and waterproof in case of a passing shower. A surprising number of people stop and read them. Then I have the Roadster poster that was printed on a large foam core board. It fits just above the Roadster battery. I also have a tri-fold brochure on Why Electric that normally 10 - 15 seems to get picked up at any given car show. Feel free to take and customize to your liking.

Of course this particular artist is going to receive 10 times the credit when the media sensationalizes this with 100 articles on "Elon Musk Screws Artist on Twitter" or "Elon Musk Feuds with Artists on Twitter", etc. Funny how a few of the usual suspects are trying to make this into more than the nothingburger that it is.

It’s not a nothingburger. It’s yet another instance of Elon making an unforced error and turning tens of thousands of potential Tesla fans (liberal-leaning artists of all stripes) into absolute decisive Elon Musk Haters. It’s a stupid stupid stupid stupid move that benefits Tesla in no way whatsoever and only creates more enemies out of potential allies.

My favorite comic book writer, Ryan North, and one of my favorite illustrators, Erica Henderson, have both already posted “F*** Elon Musk” in response to his ignorant handling of this. It’s extremely frustrating for him to draw this moronic line in the sand for no good reason.

(by the way, attribution and credit ARE important. Elon’s staking out a fundamentally crappy position, and handling it with zero nuance. OF COURSE creative types are going to be pissed.)

Trending on Twitter. Trending locally in NYC & Brooklyn.

For no good reason.

Nonsense. EVERYONE posts random images on the internet without bothering to give credit. Elon is simply refusing to be bullied into complying to the false outrage.

Do not try to pretend for one second that you or anyone else always gives credit when they post a random image on the internet. This is just hypocritical BS from the anti Elon crowd.

Yeah, this guy just want's to be a normal person on twitter but is being held at such high standards, it's unbelievable.
I think he was fooling around on twitter. He deleted those tweets.

If the picture he posted isn't the most popular pic on the artists site over the next few days I'll eat an arbitrary item...as is the custom of the internet.

Under fire from powerless trolls? Now he deleted the Tweets. Oh well, life goes on.

I agree with both sides here, by the way. I don't think Elon should be held to different standards from "everyone else on the internet". Memes are shared all over the place without attribution. But I also agree that Elon shouldn't have fanned the flames.

not everyone has millions of followers. and it is a FACT that this is making tens of thousands of hardened, pissed off enemies out of people who should be allies. Elon is acting like a typical Tech Bro, responding with zero nuance or concern to legitimate concerns from artists. it's super frustrating. defend his point all you want (and it's a STUPID STUPID hill to die on). But the real tangible upshot here is this is going to generate a ton of negative sentiment from people right in the Tesla customer wheelhouse, and they will remember it for a long time. creative types justifiable have a HUGE chip on their shoulder when tech bros dismiss their value. it's a big thing. and Elon's handling it in the worst possible way.

I don't care how you feel about giving artists credit for images. but it's a fact this will hurt Tesla sales in the long run and damage its brand among a base that should be its biggest supporters.

I just found out that who else was in on the "private" Morgan Stanley call last month, Mark Van Der Pluym, who is married to a cousin of mine :( this is what he said on the call "Morgan Stanley's industrials specialist, Mark van der Pluym, was also on the call, and he said that over the past week, three-fourths of the Tesla stock he's sold has been to short-sellers." Small world, can't believe someone I know is working with that assclown Adam Jonas. I knew he worked for Morgan Stanley, but didn't know his title.

Won't hurt sales one bit, and easily triggered hypocrites aren't going to be strong supporters of anything but their own agenda.

Stop this silly distortion of Elon's point. Elon's point is that images shouldn't have to be credited in a forced, intrusive fashion every time they are posted on Twitter, because credit is just a few clicks away to anyone who wants to find it.

He wasn't trying to take credit in any way, he just (correctly) believes that there shouldn't be forced spamming of credit.

thanks for the lecture to my post, which was in jest tbh.

btw fact checking is Elon ever wrong about anything according to you? I kid, I kid.
