In the past 20 years, every time I bought something based on CR's recommendation, the result was terrible. The final straw was when they recommended Hoover vacuum, instead of Dyson bagless. After the weekly bag cost is considered for Hoover, and how much longer the Dyson lasts, the Dyson is actually cheaper than the Hoover, but performs better, the exhaust air is much cleaner. There is no way the CR team doesn't understand the difference. Seems to me their recommendation was influenced by outside forces. Which brand do they recommend can make a substantial financial difference for those brands.

All animals ultimately care about their own benefits, including their families. Nothing wrong about it, this is in every animals' DNA. It's the result of natural selection. Because of this reason, most people are corruptible, it all depends on the risk and how much they can get. Those who think they are not corruptible that's only because they have not been put to the test yet.

Good analogy. Cars with exhaust pipes cannot be compared to cars without. “I do not like the colour of this reverse cycle air conditioner, and these solar panels make my roof look odd. I’m taking it all back to the store and will use my fan and coal stove.”

Wow, now Lora Kolodny releasing a hit piece on CNBC a few minutes ago about problems with returns and refunds!

On the attack today....:(

Just added 3 to my Roth IRA at 291.25 :D
Just skimmed through the CNBC piece. Read the couple who bought their M3 home couldn't turn it "off." It just sat in their driveway "running" for hours before they drove it back to Tesla.

Really Lora? Clueless.

New Electrek article about Tesla's efficiency and range lead over competitors, via efficiency testing conducted by a third party:

Following the demise of the 75Ds we discussed the importance of reviewers will now need to make comparisons against the 100D. We didn't see the use of the 90D though....

I saw my first I-Pace today. Didn't look compact (for UK). I think it is a brilliant car - like a Tardis except in reverse....

Reminds me of the Range Rover Evoque - not having a gap for your legs is a selling point - driver focussed like a racing car!

Straining to find a little sunshine in this CR report....

In a month or two, model Y is announced with early cars to hit customers in early 2020.

Just as early builds of Model Y hit the field, CR reports that Tesla Model 3 is now one of the most reliable cars ever tested with no instances of exhaust failures, no instances of fuel pump problems, no instances of manifold leaks or O2 sensor failures. Tesla's model 3 at one year experience, have no brake pad replacements. Amazing reliability in comparison to all other models selling similar volumes!

They’re laying it on today...

Maddening, massively coordinated short attacks are piling on today with all the publications, in a timely weak macro day. We have seen this movie countless time before. This really is just short manipulation, which was successful at break the $300 level. I totally expect this would happen, and will happen again. That said, tomorrow should be a good time to buy on further dip, for the long term investors. 280ish is usually a rock solid level.

Honestly though I can imagine that some less technical buyers might be confused at the lack of an ignition key or a start/stop button if they did not receive enough information from their delivery specialist. It drives me crazy in my wife's Volt that I have to move the shifter to park instead of just hitting the off button. I'm sure some people just aren't ready to give up those old-world conventions. (Not having owned a Tesla, I wouldn't be able to tell anyone how I turn it off, and ironically enough I've done a test drive in a Model X a year ago. It was all a blur.)
