Tesla will not adjust LR RWD price after drop

So this is very disappointing. All the prices dropped, I don't even have a VIN yet, but they will not change the price since its an off menu item.
Of course when I ordered I was told two weeks and its been about two already.
This is very disappointing as my last model 3 was totaled.

I can either take the 45.9 price for the RWD and wait somewhere between a week or two.. or the new 47.9 price for AWD and wait closer to a month.

I called the local shop where I placed the order. Previously I was told if there is a price drop there will be an adjustment.

Adding insult to injury. If I ordered an AWD, I would get a black one by this week. However if I change the order, its going to be white or I pay more...

The car you ordered isn't getting a lower price- it's being entirely discontinued.


If you care more about the longer range on the RWD, you're still going to get exactly what you ordered, for exactly the price you agreed to buy it for- and it'll be a car others can't even order in the future.

If you care more about performance or AWD, those choices are now cheaper for you to switch to.

Best thing you can do is just hurry up and take delivery of a vehicle so you can enjoy it and not have to think about all this pricing hopscotch anymore!

Unless you prefer a little more range (and a little more money in your pocket) to a little more power.

The only (only!) reason I can see is for a few extra miles of range. But, in the grand scheme, those extra couple of miles are really lost in the noise.

Otherwise, the LR AWD is a better choice in every way.

Might be a third choice if an adviser can find you a properly equipped inventory AWD, maybe with a small discount on it.

I would take that today.. the problem is that the only inventory ones within 100s of miles are performance, not just awd
