Tesloop and New Supercharging Rules

Figure out someway.

Other People report to tesla the vin of Tesloop cars they see.

Especially like the above where they say there is a line of 8 cars waiting for charger and Tesloop hogging up chargers.
Tesloop cars were purchased before the fair use acknowledgement was included. Not sure it is enforceable against them?

I thought you were talking about lift/Uber random drivers.

So not retro enforceable?

Of course not.

The policy was put in place to cap impact to (the) date (of the announcement last year) and to have a lever going forward for the ride-sharing that's not part of the fantasy Tesla Network or whatever Elon calls his Tesla-centric ride-sharing*.

By the way, Tesloop only has 11 or 12 vehicles. If Tesla can't add capacity to lessen that impact, there are bigger problems afoot.

* By the way a second time, if you think Uber/Lyft-tasked and Tesloop Teslas are a problem now at SCs, not to mention traditional livery, just wait until the mythical Tesla Network ride-sharing materializes. While I believe the idea is DOA period (see battery swaps and a dozen other ideas that either just didn't work out or never existed in the wild in the first place), let's say it's not and we do see it in 3 or so years. Well, by then, the SC network will be a revenue generator for Tesla and some percentage of Model 3 owners will be more than happy to ride share.

And so it goes. It's coming. It's just a matter of how Tesla manages supply and demand.

The problem is not with Teslaloop, Uber drivers or any other car. It is simply insufficient supply. They, if purchased the car before Dec 2017, have full right to used free charging just like anyone else, no matter what is their purpose of operation.

If EV is to prosper, then these outfits who leverage the low cost of operation should be allowed to lead the way.

Tesloop is worth gobs of money to Tesla in the form of free advertising. See all the media coverage the recent “400k” car got a few weeks ago if you don’t believe me. They don’t care about the supercharging “abuse” and aren’t going to any time soon.

Even if they get charged for supercharging use like a taxi service should as outlined in the supercharging agreement, it is not going to reduce their supercharging presence. But would it make people feel better if they are paying?

Well it will help them go out of business. Then it will free up the charging stalls once that happens.
