Well folks, despite some heavy rain for my ride over there, and some serious anxiety that something would still go wrong, I have taken possession of the most awesome car I have ever owned! So happy! I even got autopilot access before I got all the way home. Met up with some friends in Grapevine on the way, gave them a ride, went to dinner, drove home. Totally in love. She's sleeping in the garage getting charged up now. I'll get pics off my phone and post in a bit!

Other than having to wait a bit, the process was super smooth and totally issue free. The car is perfect as best I can tell. The Obsidian is so beautiful, I'm so happy with my choice.

P3D+ delivered this morning. Delivery was super smooth and easy. Said they were going to deliver 50+ cars today.
I bet they did too, it was super busy in there, cars all over the place. I was near to the last delivery today, and the delivery specialists were all tired but in great moods. They are genuinely happy to turn these cars over to people. I had a good experience for sure.

Brooklyn told me my OBM is only the second one they have delivered. I know there are three out there now, because another gentleman and his family were taking their OBM home right after me :)

Holy crap you paid for your car the same day mine supposedly arrived in Dallas. Glad you got your car! I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep now....
That is the part of the process that causes so much anxiety for people. Tesla really needs to fix this. If they were more transparent about what's happening, a lot of aggravation would probably be alleviated. I know my car sat on the Ft Worth lot for at least 2 weeks. Once I told my IDA that I could track the cars moving into and out of the lot, it seemed she really stepped it up to get things moving. Sad that not everyone gets the same experience.

Have they given you any indication as to why it's not moved?

Nothing. Just curious, Who was your rep on-site?

Just went out for a snack, just because :)

Barry did most of it, but Brooklyn also answered a few questions that Barry couldn't. He was nice though, spent plenty of time with me. Seemed like he might be new-ish though? He thought he'd paired my phone with my car when he could make the horn honk. I was like....no, don't we have to do this phone key setup process? Ha. Good thing I think I've watched every video ever made by anyone about this car!

The logjam seems to be clearing.

Completed our order 8/19, received the VIN 8/24, and car arrived at Lathrop on 8/27. That was the last sighting on the United Road web tool , until it showed up today at Dallas Cedar Springs. Delivery now set for Monday afternoon 9/10.

I can't believe your getting a car that was shipped at least two days after my car arrived in rail jail.

Oh, just remembered too....Barry seemed genuinely interested in making sure I had a way to follow up later if I had issues. I was just about to drive off after he handed me my toll tag and put plates from my trade in the trunk, and he walked back to the car to give me his direct phone number. He admits that no one typically answers the phone there, and that I was welcome to call him directly if I had any questions.

When you take delivery, they assign temporary access of your car to your Tesla account so you can access it from the Tesla app. The temporary access expires and will go away (around midnight I think). They have some final paperwork to complete before it gets permanently assigned to your account. You will probably get an email around the same time.

Unfortunately for me it took about three days. And it happened while i was driving which led to me getting locked out of my car! But that's a story for another time.
My phone app access disappeared sometime between 2 and 5AM today, which is barely 10 hours after delivery. I'm betting I'll be going "old school" with key card access until sometime tomorrow at the soonest. Assuming so because I was so late in the delivery day yesterday and they are closed today. Interestingly, my Tesla account still shows my VIN but everything else looks like I went back in time in terms of delivery details. No MVPA on there, and it says "Estimated delivery by late September". Not worried about that, but it does look funky considering the car is happily resting in my garage :)

I did observe something weird this morning. I knew the phone app access was gone, but I had the phone and my key card in the garage while I did aero cap removal and some other stuff. I unlocked the car with the card, then at one point grabbed both the phone and the card and walked away. The CAR LOCKED like phone based walk away lock! Huh, I looked to see if I got phone app access back but I had not. I went back out with the card and phone, did some more stuff, but this time I walked away and it did NOT lock. The only difference was the time it locked it was plugged into the charger.

Uninstall your app, then reinstall. That will sometimes help.

Also, later if you have any problem connecting, turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it off. That would re-establish the connection.
