The quest for wider wheels and tires, 295, 305 and beyond...

Hah. Yeah, I dunno what I saw there.

I’ll blame a 30hr day. That said, did I miss the reason you didn’t go with a 10.5 et ~22 and avoid this knuckle fun while having more than enough room for a 295?
Look up a few more posts. Shortly I'll be running a custom upright with the goal of 315s (335s??), so that necessitates the 11" rim. And I didn't want to buy extra rims. New/used uprights are cheaper than 2 wheels for whenever I sell the car.

custom upright? do tell. I haven't wanted to do anything more until I can get 315 square A7. 295/315 is fun but

30mm additional inboard clearance, coarse camber adjustments up to -2.5*, geometry correction compensating for 1.5" drop, increased camber gain. Nothing special. 😎 I'm sure a price tag to match too.
SSB Designs is who's doing it. They are well known for their Evo uprights and such.

So I just moved up to a 275/35/19 on 19 x 10.5 +25 wheels. MPP catalog and the setup is for autocross. Wondering if I will have rubbing issues though in the rear??? Front camber is -3.1 rear is -2.2. thoughts?

It may tuck in enough under compression, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to run a little more camber to make sure!

Success! No issues under extreme autocross use, so it looks like the camber increase worked out well in the rear. The front was just fine also. I have to say the RE71RS is a pretty great tire. I was able to run much lower pressure without rolling over compared to the rt660.

33-34 front, 31-32 rear on the 71rs, had to be north of 36-37 on falkens
Hm, I'm running 305-wide RT660s at 30psi and 3.5ish front camber on 10.5-wide 19" wheels, and getting more wear on the inner shoulder than at the outer one. Also, I'm massively slower at pressures above 32psi. Heck, I was starting them at 27-28psi at this weekend "autocross" -- 120+ second asphalt courses with speeds up to 80-90mph -- due to tons of heat build-up during runs. And I was still getting pretty even temps across the tread via post-run pyrometer measurements.

The shaving was to get the wheels to fit, not so much the tires.

My problem with 19's is the tires so might attempt the same but higher up on the upright.

Seems to only rub under extreme cornering, I had no idea how much a tire moves in the horizontal direction, in retrospect I should have been less aggressive on the offset.
