Hang in there Andrewket. Its not about the Car, but about the car you want.
Must admit, it is rather depressing when you hear about someone who finalized this year and received the car while we continue to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait... I think I will join you for that drink.

Ok, I to wait for the multi-coat red. I'm ok with that, I think it will be worth the wait and gives me time to Reno my garage and re-fi the house. Just so all you out their that are waiting for reds, we just got a call from friends that are vacationing in the Florida keys, spending a few days in Miami. They went to the Tesla showroom and they have a MS there in the new red, they said it is incredible. The only problem they said is that I will probably get a lot of tickets. I really do not care, I had a Carmen Red 1967 Jaguar XKE and only got 1 or 2 tickets. Keep your positive thoughts coming and shortly we all will be in heaven.

Someone called it "Arrest Me Red." I love that name and I think that's what I'll tell people it is.

I've had red cars for the past 20 years (Saab 900SE and Audi A4), drive 80 mph on the highway, and was never been pulled over for speeding in them (must be all that clean living I do). I did, however, get one from a speed camera in SC a few years back but that was in a blue minivan. I think it's the car that will get you the ticket, not the color. I'm afraid the MS will prove to be an attractive target for police regardless of the paint.

We were in South Beach last month and unless they've swapped cars, the Tesla CSR told me the red model S on Lincoln Road was just a beta prototype

The car in Miami is not the production 2013 red. Of this I am 100% sure. I spend time every weekend there getting my tesla color red medication dose to help dealing with this waitinggggggg!!!!!
It is already mid MARCHHHHH I want to know when we will see some 2013 RED Tesla model S in the streets

I wonder why the Specialist at Tesla said that the Miami MS was the new red, we have seen tons of pictures of the MS in the 2013 red, but no one knows what the actual red looks like. I find that weird, somebody at Tesla must have a sample of the new red. I want to see it and I want to see it now!!!!!!!!!!!

We know... we've all seen it. We have gone 'round and 'round on this topic before. Search around on the forum and you can see plenty of pics. We have confirmation that the 2013 red IS the 'get amped' summer tour red. We don't have confirmation (but it looks to me like the same color) that the red MS CURRENTLY on tour IS the 2013 red. The paint panels at the Telsa Stores ARE the 2013 red. It's out there, and it's gorgeous.

A pic from Geneva. Red MS in the background.

There have been multiple reports that the red was tweaked a bit since the US Amped events to give more depth to the color (by adding small mica particles to the paint?). The color tone is reported to be the same, but the final production paint is subtly different. This is what's driving us all nuts with anticipation. I suspect that the car in the Geneva show posted above is very close to the final color.

Cant wait, the 'tuned' red is gorgeous. On the Tesla Forums someone got a quote that said something along the lines of "Red will begin leaving the factory on April 8th". I don't know the trustworthiness, but maybe we'll start to see something soon. What was the lead time between Delivery Confirmation Email and actual Delivery for the other colors?

Fellow Reds! Might have a first sign of positive news!

Backstory - we had a Model S meet-up here in Atlanta last weekend and I had the opportunity to listen to the same song in two different cars, on a standard audio system and the Sound Studio upgraded system, to determine whether I might want to consider the upgrade, despite being finalized since 12/3/12. I've been traveling on business this week so I just got around to calling a TM configuration specialist today to inquire whether I could still do this since my order was still awaiting production. He told me my order was actually just submitted to the factory yesterday (!!). While disappointed that I lost the opportunity to upgrade the sound at this point (he actually thought I probably still could since it is just one day, but I told him I don't want to do anything at this point that would disrupt my order if already in the factory queue), I was, needless to say, excited that my S is in the factory queue at this point!

The "bad" news is he said it is generally about two months to delivery after orders enter the factory, which would be early May delivery (technically still within the "April/May" window...). I believe other posts in the forum have indicated a faster overall cycle time, but I wanted to get your thoughts? However long the remaining wait is, I'm glad to at least pass this milestone!

Was that the pic of a MS with silver wheels but with one grey wheel placed in front of it to see what it would look like? If no, would you mind posting the pics?

Andrew, I took that photo. That was of the car that is in Miami now just before it was moved there from Dania Beach where it was for a few days before the Miami opening.
I don't know who to believe anymore. The Miami store manager told me that was indeed the red that we were all ordering.
All I can say is it better be fantastic and not look like any everyday Ford or Chevy red.
