How did you change out the TPMS? Did you have to remove and re-mount the tires?
Why did the TPMS had to be swapped, does the car not automatically learn the new ones (after a few miles driving)?
Yeah, the current software doesn't have the "reset sensor" option. And the Model Y TPMS sensors are different from the 3s so the shop wasn't able to use their tool to scan it. Supposedly it's using bluetooth now?
After replacing one or more wheels (but not
after replacing a tire), the TPMS sensors are
relearned to ensure tire pressure warnings are
accurate. TPMS sensors reset automatically
within 10 minutes of driving over 15 mph.
Did you try driving for ~10 minutes so that it could learn the new sensors like the manual says?
The shop swapped the TPMS when we traded our wheels. Drove for 40 minutes after and it's fine. My average wh/mi went from 288 to 266.
It’s a shame you didn’t get the wheel weights while you had the tires off swapping the TPMSs.
So you never tried to learn the new wheels before the TPMS units were swapped?
No. Wheels WITHOUT tires. I swear if no one gets them before I get my car, I’m taking a scale with me when I get my Übers powder coated!
Now that you changed from the 21 to 20 on the PUP , can you give some details on the ride difference
Quality/noise/rough/smooth etc.......
I’m trying to figure out if going with the pup with the sport suspension affects the ride quality or does the wheel more affect it and then the difference in ride between the wheels...
Many thanks
Awesomeness! I thought there was something on the performance model that prevented you from putting the induction wheels on? Did you have to remove a bolt or something?
Great! Thanks for that. It looks great, and I agree it best suits the white Model Y. Care to post some more pics??
