I must be one of the unluckiest people alive. Went out in Dr. Wattson after I got home. Combination of a bad kerb design (it's sharp, and slops on the edge) next to the charging bays, and being pressurised by an old boy being impatient and edging towards me whilst I was parking resulted in the below....

Anyone know where I can get a Hankook iON 235/40/R19 96W... All I can find online is the Ventus Evo 3. Was hoping to get a matching tyre but may have to go with this? I'll repair the alloy, but the tyre is a safety concern.

Oh, and before anyone says it... USS would not have prevented this.
That's a real shame - feel for you🙁. Picked mine up on Friday with same wheels and I've been concerned about kerbing having done it a couple of times with diamond cut alloys on my last car.

I have been thinking about rim protectors and looking at Allygators which seem much better than the stick on type.

Understand your concern about the tyre but FWIW I wouldn't replace the tyre. The impact is unlikely to have damaged the casing at such low speed and seems cosmetic, at least to me. Tidy up the rim and probably only you will notice it or perhaps ask a tyre specialist what they think. When I came to sell my Golf both dealers and the eventual buyer said that my kerbing damage was so minor that they weren't concerned - but I knew it was there!

Yeah, it's annoying because I think a lot of it was because I rushed to get out of this blokes way.. I should have taken my time and just left him to wait.

The tyre doesn't look that bad in the picture, but that gouge is a good 5mm deep, if not deeper. Luckily most of my journeys are short distance, but I wouldn't want to do anything more than pottering around town until it's replaced. It's just one of those things where I've always been risk averse when it comes to tyres (or any other safety feature).

Of course, the other thing is that I need to find out how to remove the black plastic between the spokes so I can get the rim repaired.

"It is what it is" at the end of the day, I just need to chalk it down to experience and sort it out.

Afternoon all, I ordered a Model Y in January & have a delivery slot for mid Fed. I’ve seen clips from what I believe are 2024 Chinese Model Y’s which have a version of the LED light strip that the Highland 3 has, plus a few other minor changes.

Does anybody know what version is currently being shipped to the UK & where they’re built? I know it’s nothing, but the LED light strip would be a cool addition to have.

Our MY (and M3) come from China but there’s now sign we’re getting the LED interior lighting on the MY.

To continue on from this, and to have a little bit of a rant, I took the advise of @Roger20 to go via Tesla, but I don't think my 'local' Tesla SC really have a clue what they are doing. I asked for a quote to replace the tyre, repair the alloy, and a quote for 5th wheel and tyre so I can have a spare wheel in case of an emergency.

I have a M3H, the wheels are the Nova 19" Alloys, and the Tyres are the new Hankook iON Evo in 235/40/R19 96W. Tesla instead of giving me an indicative figure for the price of a Nova wheel have included it on my Service Request quote meaning I now cannot accept the quote (I was clear I was just curious for a number on the additional wheel and tyre) - if that wasn't bad enough they quoted a 19" Helix alloy, not a Nova alloy. Then, when talking to service, I am trying to get out of them confirmation that the tyres will be like for like with what is on the car currently (it doesnt look like it based on the price!)

Surely Tesla can see that my vehicle is a Highland, and that it has the Nova Alloys, and thus needs the Hankook iON Evo tyres?? I only went via Tesla in the hope of a like for like Tyre, but the service estimate doesn't even tell you - it is just "Hankook SU 235/40/R19 96W" - the problem is, that info is all the same between the iON and the S1 Ventus Evo 3...

All in all, a pretty poor first Tesla Service appointment. If they cannot give me a guarantee they will be the Hankook iON I may as well go down to ATS. Problem is, I want an iON Evo so that a) it is an EV specific tyre b) it matches the tread pattern of all of my others c) there is no evidence i damaged a tyre on day 1 😂.

Update:
Turns out that on Hankooks the codes like K127 are the tread pattern, K127 is what is on both the Ventus and the iON, so I have sacked off Tesla and gone with a Ventus S1 Evo 3 TO XL SA instead of spending half of my life finding a tyre which doesn't currently exist outside of the Tesla factory.

A new screen in the app... all dates have gone (was 2-17 Feb) and now just "We'll notify you when it's time to schedule your delivery appointment"

The Vin/Reg disappeared a week ago and Arval are very vague about what happened.

i'm telling myself that it means it's just hit the assembly line to try cure the impatience.

My M3 has been ordered through Arval too. When was yours ordered? Is it a standard spec? Mine wasn't ordered till Jan 25th but my current ED is 15th May till 18th July... Contacted Arval and they just said its usually 4-8 weeks, quite a big difference between the estimations lol.

18th Jan - Black AWD with 19" Nova Wheels. It's a salary sacrifice it took from 2nd Jan just to get the order to Tesla.

The frustrating part is Arval - with this "this should happen", "your company needs to approve delivery", "the person that knows Tesla is busy", "the spreadsheet isn't up to date", and "we can only email Telsa".

Just been unpacking the odds and ends that you get with the car in the boot and I noticed that my Type 2 Cable that came with the car is 7.5m. The one that came with my 2021 M3LR was only 3 or 5m if i remember correctly. I also noticed that the side bins in the boot are shallowered and have a slope from the boot to the bin rather than a flat side.

Some of this may have been changed between 2021 and now, but thought I'd mention it incase its new.

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to summarize my experience. My M3H RWD ordered on the 1st Dec was delivered yesterday. They drove it to me directly from BlueWater (I live couple of miles away so that's fine) Came with 73% charge. Love it so much but I have a couple of issues not sure if anyone else had these?
  1. only one profile has ambient light showing in the settings for others it is off and you cannot even see it in Lights menu whatsoever - really strange!
  2. when trying to connect to Octopus I pass all the steps but it fails upon testing. I've seen that they had some issues recently before I call them any tips? (charging will be controlled by Tesla as I have ProjectEV charger

As @KeithA has said - ensure there isnt a schedule set on the charger which is preventing it from setting the car going. The charge needs to be instigated for the connection to be deemed successful by Octopus.

I made this mistake. Was scratching my head why it wasnt working, then remembered my hypervolt still had the old 00:30-4:30 schedule on it.

My test went OK and Intelligent Go has worked really well - came back yesterday evening with 10% battery and it gave me a 13 hours schedule offpeak - very impressed.

I have a dumb 3.7kw Polar wall charger and I have turned off all schedule settings on the Tesla app apart from setting charge limit to 90%. On Octopus I set charge limit to 80% and departure time to 9am. I read somewhere that there needs to be a differential between Octopus and Tesla charge limit. The last few times it has charged to 78% so seems to work well and give maximum optimal scheduling.

Managed to solve both issues :)
I think I was blindly looking for this color wheel on the side and didn't read all the menus where in fact ambient was actually listed but off 🫠
As for Octopus, thank you @KeithA , I just let the charging continue for a while and then Octopus figured out the car is connected. So now it's all set up!
You might find the next time you plug it in it will start charging immediately even if is during a peak period. Octopus will either stop it and then give a charge schedule or continue and then give a charge schedule which starts from the time you plugged it in. At least that's how I think it works but I'm a new user and have yet to receive my first bill!

On an unrelated note as a new Octopus customer they are currently billing me for electricity using someone else's meter and charging gas in cubic feet instead of cubic meters at 3 times the amount. But they are working at it - hopefully🤔
