Tesla have changed their mind and now told us our car isn’t in their boat like they told us it was. Apparently the boat was overbooked so they took our car off. So now delivery next week has changed to delivery in 3 months.

Yet, there were inventory become available for this ship (like other ships) during the transit, obviously some from cancellations but not all.
Very fishy....

That’s poor - even by the logistical standards we’ve come to expect from Tesla...
Does the source code match the story? i.e. has your hidden VIN disappeared or copyoveride date changed?

Hidden VIN hasn’t changed or disappeared! It’s all over the place, being told a different thing by everyone we speak to. It appears the car is sat in Fremont and has been for about a month now. Not looking forward to seeing the condition if it has just been sat outside and left alone the whole time!
Can’t imagine they’re going out and cleaning it, so it’ll be left until June when it arrives.

That’s really odd an “overbooked” boat, with dozens of unassigned cars showing up on inventory..- it might be worth checking with them again on Monday, see if the story has changed (again!)

I think we’ve given up to be honest. We’ve spoken to them about 8 times now in an attempt to speak to someone who has an idea what’s going on! They said they’d put as at the top of the list for reassigned VINs if one with our spec comes up, apart from that there isn’t much we can do. Except hope that it turns up in the next 2 weeks like we were originally told!

There are some on inventory now, if one is in your spec then just order it and transfer the RN and VIN to Tusker. I did exactly this.

Unfortunately none of them are! Our spec is black with white interior. No FSD.

I haven't heard anything and the source code hasn't changed for me either but I'm concerned about this development due to the lack of text message. Will seriously consider cancelling my order and buying something else. No inventory spec matching mine either.

I wouldn’t worry, I think what’s happened to us is mega rare. Texts usually go out when the boat docks in Zeebrugge, which is tomorrow night. So you should hear then! Inventory cars are usually all white because the lease companies usually over-order them and then cancel when they haven’t sold them.

This talk about the grant being removed for the P3D makes me even happier that I got my short-notice "Cancelled slot" delivery on Tuesday, before the budget.

How set are you on the white interior? That's going to be the sticking point, it seems like that's a rare feature and the vast majority of inventory stuff is black interior. You're basically relying on a small handful of people cancelling their orders. If you're willing to sacrifice that then you've got much more chance of finding a car and might be able to sneak in the back door before the end of March...

I know it is! I think we’re pretty set on it and would rather have to wait a few extra months to have it!

Fair enough - I do think that the white looks better, but I opted against it due to practicality, I don't want to be cleaning it every couple of days. Head over heart for once!
