I doubt that Tesla could sell that many $200,000+ cars in a year. I don’t think the market is there. But I’m just guessing, I am not an expert.
If the new Roadster had a base price of $100,000 then I think Tesla could easily sell over 10,000/year.
I prefer the Battista apart from the horrible design at the front of the hood (for all of you Americanites)I know we are on a Tesla site so this goes without saying for the most part, but..... The Roadster looks so much better. This is my opinion of course as looks are in the eye of the beholder

Isn’t it conceivable that other manufacturers of higher end sports cars will start to build similarly performing EVs?
The outlook is not so good. Going electric is a disruption that they didn't ask for, a risk they aren't eager to take. Most of those companies won't respond until after Tesla has started eating their lunch, and even then their response is going to be slow, if only because everything in the car business happens slowly.
I wouldn’t worry too much about 0-60 time. It’s traction limited.
By the time I get my Roadster I will be 60 years old. ... I plan to take it on frequent cross country road trips where that 600+ miles range will be mind blowing.
