That makes zero sense. In 2016 they sent it to 1,000 vehicles an hour before midnight so they could say it "shipped" in 2016. They didn't give it to the other 20,000 vehicles for a month. They were not hurting for testers.

Answering my question, his background pic shows a 3, the screen says browser, energy, calendar. So the 3 is getting all I want! Except for roof rack and towing ability (ducking ).

I think they are trying for everything this quarter:

1. Ship/sell, some combination, 50k+ model 3s
2. Profitable, and not by a tiny amount like that other time
3. Ship the v9 software with some notable new autopilot innovations

That would give a giant upward shock to the stock.
