I just can't imagine they'd send someone for that. Seems hugely wasteful. Why wouldn't he want that? I would totally use this service if it were available...perhaps the guy lives 50 miles from a SC or something...

Or putting them in an envelope and making them for $.50Not any more wasteful then letting the customer drive the same distance twice for a 2 minute repair.
I've never thought of great customer service as being wasteful...I just can't imagine they'd send someone for that. Seems hugely wasteful.
To keep costs down. FedEx overnight. Cheaper and probably quicker. That would be great service in my book. Why wouldn't he want that? I would totally use this service if it were available...perhaps the guy lives 50 miles from a SC or something...
I'd leave that up to Tesla to decide...they come to my house to change air filters and rotate tires so delivering a keycard is much the same service...To keep costs down. FedEx overnight. Cheaper and probably quicker. That would be great service in my book.
At $39,900 for my M3 SR+. To me it represents a great value.
Not quite. You can't rotate tires via FedEx.I'd leave that up to Tesla to decide...they come to my house to change air filters and rotate tires so delivering a keycard is much the same service...
I think you missed the point but it doesn't matter. Tesla will do what THEY decide to do whether any of us think it great service (as I do) or wasteful use of resources (as you seem to do).Not quite. You can't rotate tires via FedEx.

Yeah, I'm surprised no one previously thought of just mentioning them mailing it or even using another courier if faster turnaround is desired. The technician's time is worth much more than serving as a courier.... but you wonder why it takes weeks to get an appointment? Using limited resources appropriately is great customer service, not wasting time and energy on nonsense that could be solved with a $.55 stamp.

Eternally grateful none of you are working in customer service in my business! LOL
Having real difficulty understanding why so many people are getting so wound up about this. Just let Tesla do what they want to do. I'm not wasting any more time on this subject! LOLI fail to see how “Oh, those look terrible! So sorry - tell you what, I’ve got two of them right here, I’ll mail them out right now; you should have them within a day or two. If yours stop working before that, just let me know and we’ll figure it out.” would be anything less than excellent customer service?
