Have had my MY for a couple of weeks. I finally got around to installing/configuring TeslaMate and noticed that my car doesn’t sleep and stays in the Online or Suspended state. How do I go about figuring out what’s causing this?
You can install our site as a web app on your iOS device by utilizing the Add to Home Screen feature in Safari. Please see this thread for more details on this.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
Unless changes were made to the default configuration, I don’t think Teslamate is the problem. I’ve been running Teslamate for several months with its default configuration and have had no problems. The first thing to suspect would be teslamate.

I would second this.Under the Tesla Model Y Security Settings set Sentry Mode to Exclude your home location*.
If you purchased Full Self Driving (FSD) turn off Summon/Smart Summon when the Tesla Model Y is parked at your home location.
* Set the Home Location in the Tesla Navigation system.

Strange, anytime I open the door without putting the car in park I get the "Hey dummy.." notice Daddyscar mentioned and it puts it in park automatically, wonder why yours doesn't? Might want to check with TS on that....You’re not gonna believe this. My wife wasn’t outing the car in park after driving. She was just stopping it a walking away.
