Service center left my car blinker on overnight at their yard. My car and another vehicle on their yard blinker on.

Received a text message around 733PM that my car is available for pick up. They closed by 7PM. I checked my sentry mode and I see my car blinker is on so I immediately tried to call the local service center and someone answered (call center) and was told the service center were closed. I told her that I can see my car blinker is on. Someone should turn it off and the rep on the phone said, "I'm sorry, the service center is closed and no one can turn off the blinker" So I decided to drive all the way to the service center and so I can it turn off the blinker manually. It was around 830pm and no Tesla reps or security at the lot. What I did, I called again Tesla and spoke someone and told the rep on the phone that I will go turn off the blinker and that's what I did. After a few minutes a representative from Tesla Burbank came out about to go home and I told him why do they leave the blinker on. He said that they leave the blinker on overnight to know the car service was done and it wont drain the battery. My thought is even if it wont drain the battery that much, they should turn it off.
It will increase the wear and tear of the vehicle.

I am very disappointed, frustrated and furious how they handle my brand new car. I just recently got the card 2 weeks ago and it has only 87 miles on it and they will just leave the car like that. I had it service due the glove box misaligned, USB not working and one of the trim piece were replaced.

Im not agreeing on the rep what he told me that they can leave the blinker overnight. Any thoughts on it?

if you’re furious about the dealer leaving a LED blinker on you bought the wrong car

What? LOL, no. It's LED and can be on "forever" without any issues.

For what it's worth, I was at a Service Center bright and early a few weeks ago and 4-5 cars had their hazards on from the previous evening. Figured it was a way for the porters to know which cars they need to move around or have completed service.

Incorrect, LEDs do fade over a long enough time line with use.

Would you get to a statistically significant dimming in a blinker before the car got totaled out or miled out is unknown. But they do not last forever, in quotes or not in quotes.

As you should be. The viscosity of your “lifetime” blinker fluid is compromised for sure. The increased friction is going to cause the blinker they left on to cycle at ~1.8hz instead of the factory spec 2.0hz and the whole car is gonna be out of balance.

To be honest I’d probably just insist they buy it back. It’s never gonna be right again.

Every LED goes dead after a certain cycle.

@Mike_TV LED wont last "forever" . That is incorrect. All LED has hours of life. They will burn out/.

Not to mention the the wires leading to the blinker eroding over time. One reason they remove the original "knob & tube" wiring when renovating 100-year-old homes is that the wire thickness has shrunk from 12- to 16-gauge.

If led blinks 12 hours extra instead of the regular perhaps ½-1 hour per day they tried to add wear and tear worth 24 days (mind mainly led only + wiring but I bet relative wiring effect would be even less) onto your car.

The real question is that can you measure the monetary value of losing 12 hours from the 50000h life span of a led that costs $5. You lose more in opportunity cost by posting here about it, unless this is entertainment for you too ;)
