Who's tinted their windows?

Sorry to hear with your difficulties. Unfortunately, this is a skill oriented craft, and with the rear glass of the Model 3 being so curved, most installers will not be able to lay it down right. It can be done, but only through the hands of someone with many many years of tinting experience.
Wanna make a quick trip to Philly? I'll buy you all the cheesesteaks you can eat.

I'm also about to have mine done with 35% back and sides...95% front windshield. Could you by chance post a couple of more pics? Thanks!

Here you go.
Looks fantastic and the XPEL you can really feel the heat rejection. I was rather impressed.

Do you guys have issues with distortion on the rear windshield tint because of the defroster lines? That's one thing that really bothers me, though I'm not sure if my previous experience was caused by inferior installation. Removal of the tint is another concern (cutting the defroster circuits).

Could be the type of tint used also.. what did you have installed that gave you the distortion?

I don't remember..I was much younger and had a lot less money so I went cheap. The distortion was very pronounced at night when lights were viewed through the tint.

I also bought a car that had front tint from the first owner. I also observed distortion from lights, though not as bad as the rear with defroster lines.

My tint job cost $400 total, $300 regular. The extra $100 was because the back window is extended. I got 5% all around. Wanted to go with an EV specialty shop, but they didn't have the level of tint desired so I went with a different local tint specialist.

Thoughts on the roof glass being much lighter/brighter than the top portion of the back window?

Mind if I ask what brand of tint and its TSER %?

What is it like driving with windshield tint 75% at night? Is it noticeably darker? I want to do the windshield but worry about it being a little too dark at night.
Some years back I took over a lease that had had a, if I recall correctly, 80% applied to the windshield. Slightly changed the hue of headlights but otherwise was nigh unnoticeable. I've been warned though that you shouldn't use the cheaper films on the windshield as sunlight exposure can make them more opaque over time.

The heavier tinting that you can put on your side windows actually has more impact on driving experience at night, than the front. For both checking left/right and for it's reduction of detail via the side mirrors. *shrug*

And for backing up.....
I'm and "old foggy" but even I now trust cameras more than my rear view window. :p Use of both are good, but rear cameras are getting to the point that they have better coverage than physically turning. We'll see with the M3 but I expect the side view + shoulder check will cover anything the rear camera doesn't?

Unless you mean for cars that don't have that, then yes.

P.S. I actually run my Bolt rear view mirror nearly all the time in camera mode. The only time I don't is at highway speeds when it's wet enough that the lenses gets dirty.

For me, it's mainly when I'm checking to the sides for cross traffic or pedestrians before/while I am backing up; I didn't meant to check what's directly behind me.
