Worth buying an M3P at this point?

1/4 mile is 11.48 PM3 vs LR/boost 11.82….only .34 seconds off? I’d say I got a deal with my 22’ LR/ABoost from Jan ordered October 21’ ore ore price hikes

Even the 30-50 mile is 1.07 PM3 vs 1.24 LR3boost. .17 delta.

I wonder what 50-80 would yield
At current prices the delta from LR3boost to PM3 is hardly anything. P is better value.

I find that Model 3s come either as late afternoon Friday cars, or mid-week cars. Some people just have a lot of issues with theirs and the car will forever have issues while others will just have a nicely built car that will last forever. It seems your is the latter so do you really want to risk getting a Friday afternoon Tesla

That's a good point. Nearly 4 years and 45,000 miles in I would probably have a decent idea by now if this was a car with a lot of build quality issues. Plus they warranty the drive-train for 8y/120,000mi and the battery/motors are what would really cost the big bucks if they went bad.

Many 18's won't fit the M3P brakes. It's one of the few drawbacks of going that trim.

There are tons of 18" wheel options that work for the Performance 3. It's a non-issue.

Clearly enough hasn't been said since people keep parroting that same false line.

Anyone looking for an 18" wheel option will not come up empty. But if you want to get technical then sure. There are also 19" and 20" wheels out in the wild that also won't fit.

You must be missing something, perhaps reread the thread. I said I thought there were some issues with 18" and in some instances there are and in some there are not. The point was to do your research before you buy. What do you own stock in 18" tires, wtf???

Tesla claims 4.2 with rollout. So probably about 3.9 without rollout vs. the 3.1 seconds of the performance when compared the same way.

3.9 with rollout.

Tesla has an unpleasant history of usually listing P models with rollout, and non-Ps without.

What is in my chart is actual measured (via draggy) results from actual member vehicles.

LR boost is 30-50 in 1.24 sec, 0-60 3.67 w/out roll, 3.47 w/roll.

PM3 is 30-50 in 1.07 sec, 0-60 3.21 w/out roll, 2.99 w/roll.

1/4 mile is 11.48 P vs 11.82 LRboost...only .34 seconds off? Lends to mid/upper range of LRBoost matching P and most of P diff comes from 0-30 at launch.
