$1900 estimate bill for paint and windshield issue on after delivery

Picked up my MYLR yesterday 9/26 and found some issues after going home. Rear hatch area had some paint cracks and windshield had about 3 different chips on the driver side.

Texted my advisor and was told to submit a service tix and after awhile service sent me an invoice with an estimate of $1900+. Shouldn’t it be zero cost estimate since it’s a brand new car that came like this?

Anyone else an issue like this?

Tesla routinely send you an estimate in case it's not covered by the warranty. You just need to make sure they are aware that this is brand new that's covered by delivery repairs.

No way would I have them fix that stuff. A detailer can probably take care of the paint, but it's definitely not worth having it painted. They are likely to mess it up worse. The glass scratch is a toss up. I probably would also leave that alone.

the crack under the bumper is normal! everyone has it more noticeable on white its not paint its just the panel bond they use, i noticed it too and have looked at 25 plus Ys and they all have it, the rubber just cracks after it settles, there is no harm that it will cause, i have had this on other new cars i have had in the past

Monet3333: Are they actual cracks or just superficial scratches?

I totally agree with several here that a good detail shop can take care of you...cheap. Have Safelite, or a reputable glass shop, check out the windshield "chips"
