I doubt they are doing it intentionally. The AP1 automatic wipers are not exactly reprogrammable by Tesla.

My take away from his statement was that they disabled the original water sensor, and are now using the camera-based system. Agree they likely can't reprogram the water sensor.
) action using Rain-X. It's the main reason auto wipers don't matter to me.It's absolutely not possible. EyeQ3 uses a purpose-designed ASIC for vision processing, not a general purpose processing unit.

What's for sure is that MobilEye isn't providing any new features for Tesla's eyeQ3 chips!

Got 2018.2 today on my MX AP2.5. It failed 2 times before due to faulty door sensors. Apparently all MX produced late 2017 don't tolerate water/cold climate, so they fitted better sensors that do.
Since 2017.52.2 I noticed:
- Auto wipers (not tested yet)
- AP is much better than 2017.52.2 (which seemed like a regression from 2017.52). Compared to 2017.52 AP seems like an incremental improvement.
1. Very solid on flat highways.
2. Still wanders a lot on hills like before
3. Still seems to brake hard and wander when entering tight curves. Hugs outer part of lane in these situations ,sometimes crossing the line.
4. In general predictable and feels solid.
Since 2017.52.2 I noticed:
