We didn't have a direct hit on square AB2 however the clear winner of the PLATINUM RAY competition is @Scan Man who chose square Z3.
Congratulations to you!
He chose his square within 6 minutes of the competition opening last Thursday and the very next person to choose a square, just 2 minutes later, was @ricco404 who chose X3 and became runner up!

The winner will receive his prize when the superchargers at Fleet southbound open.

Excellent, Thank you MM. It was just wishful thinking the Platinum Ray would this far across the Atlantic after a few days, turns out it is actually closer than I hoped it would be!

Interesting that the Zeebrugge port schedule is now showing Sigma getting in before Platinum Ray.

When I last spoke to Tesla they stated yes the car will be on the Platinum Ray to Belgium BUT could not confirm the name of the ship to bring it to Southampton. So does this mean that the stopover in Belgium unloads unready cars and replaces with cars now ready for UK?

Before I hit the unwatch button - I just wanted to say thank you to @Mr Miserable and @Vedaprime for the entertainment and information whilst I've been (im)patiently waiting and watching my car make its way here.
Delivery is due next week so fingers crossed all is good and see you on the other side!

yeah, ummm.... about that .....

the first rule of shipping club is ......

NO-ONE LEAVES SHIPPING CLUB

Forever shall you be required to add to the growing ranks of those that can remind RN-laden hopeful owners that things will be fine if they wait, and also that this thread is for SHIPPING CLUB.

Don't leave, or should I say ... you may try to leave BUT YOU WILL KEEP CHECKING IN ANYWAY.

I wouldn't worry if I were you - the PLATINUM RAY is coming to Southampton on Sunday with your car onboard.
There is a limit to how much Tesla can tell from their system - they can tell where your car is - ie onboard PLATINUM RAY, which in this case, is good enough.

Given the dates is it entirely possible that the Sigma will leave its RHD cars on the docs in Zeebrugge and the Glovis Clipper will pick them up and bring them over? I have a delivery of the 24th and on the sigma so with the clipper arrving in southampton on the 18th that is a comfmy 6 days to PDI and get delivery sorted?

That is a possibility.
I was however expecting GLOVIS SIGMA to be in Southampton on Tuesday (15th) according to a schedule that I have seen - it's heading off to Singapore after a further stop in Bremerhaven next Friday.
If she doesn't appear on the Southampton schedule tomorrow you might be right.

Hi, my car is on the Sigma with collection 22nd - I was originally offered slots 18th, 21st 22nd etc. If available from 18th would the timeline be too tight to wait for the clipper?

Well that certainly wipes out that idea, looks like we will have to wait and see what the schedules throw up tomorrow, could be a very busy doc side for Tesla’s. The suspense

Only 1 ship left in the Atlantic today.

PLATINUM RAY She is now well established in the English Channel and is currently about 25nm south of Salcombe doing 20+ kts.
Bizarrely, earlier this morning she slowed to about 12 kts for a few hours allowing the GLOVIS SIGMA to close up to within 100 miles. At one stage it looked like we would have a formation arrival into Zeebrugge. Anyway, whatever the problem was, by 10am it was sorted and it was back into ludicrous mode with an arrival at Zeebrugge early tomorrow morning and a departure at 22:00 tomorrow night.
She is now due to unload in Southampton at 12:00 on Sunday.

Meanwhile 100 miles behind her …

GLOVIS SIGMA She is now within terrestrial AIS range about 60nm SW of Lands End and has now slowed to 16kts commensurate with
an arrival in Zeebrugge tomorrow afternoon. It looks like she will depart Zeebrugge late on Sunday night in order to arrive off Southampton on Monday afternoon (15:15). It's unfortunate she didn't book earlier because she will now have to wait in an anchorage for Pier 104 or 105 to become available.

GLOVIS CLIPPER She continues to maintain a stately 16kts across the Atlantic. Her midday position is shown on the chart below. She is due to arrive in Zeebrugge next Wednesday night, which is easily achievable. She is not due to depart until 14:00 on 17 Sep and so if she is coming to Southampton it will be on Friday 18 Sep. We should hopefully be able to confirm that on Sunday.

I’m continuing to monitor Newark for another shipment, just in case, however time is running out and I don’t see any likely candidates.

If you are waiting for MODEL S or Model X

Although Model S and Model X are made in the same factory as the Model 3 their delivery journey to you is markedly different.

Both Model S and X are shipped partly assembled in containers (3 to a container).

They are moved by road from the factory to the Oakland Joint Intermodal Terminal where they are loaded on to a train.

The train then takes about 9 days to travel to Houston. (actually BNSF Pearland).

The containers are then moved by road to the dock at Barbers Cut where they are then loaded on to a scheduled container ship that eventually arrives 15 days later in Rotterdam (Note: Although the ships have a scheduled stop in Antwerp your containers are unloaded in Rotterdam).

There the containers are moved by road (or barge) to Tilburg in Holland. Your car is removed from the container and then joins a mini production line where it is reassembled.

It is then moved to Zeebrugge and shipped to Southampton.

As can be seen, all this takes time.

Finding your car in this complex logistics chain is difficult but there is a man who can. @Vedaprime is the specialist in this area. You can find him here but he normally resides on Twitter.

Ships for possible Model S and Model X shipments are:

MAERSKA IDAHO arrived Rotterdam 17 Aug
MAERSK NIJMEGAN arrived Rotterdam 22 Aug
MAERSK OHIO arrived Rotterdam 24 Aug
SAFMARINE MAFADI arrived Rotterdam 31 Aug
MAERSK MONTANA Dep Houston 23 Aug Arrived Rotterdam 7 Sep
MAERSK IOWA Dep Houston 30 Aug Arr Rotterdam 14 Sep
MAERSK IDAHO Dep Houston 6 Sep Arr Rotterdam 21 Sep
MAERSK OHIO Dep Houston 14 Sep Arr Rotterdam 28 Sep

It’s arrived!! Leeds reckon they’re shipping out 20-50 cars a day at the moment!

Probably won’t frequent this part of the forum as much going forward, but will still pop in occasionally to see what’s going on.

Huge thanks to Mr. M. & all who’ve made the wait entertaining (& educational!); it really is a great forum.

Good luck to all trying to work out where their cars are!
