I came from a Leaf too. Can totally relate... Lots of times driving (possibly unsafely) with misty windshield to ensure I made the journey. It's so liberating to not have to worry about charge/range

I've never gotten myself into that situation, though my wife once went to work with not quite enough juice to get home. She arranged somewhere to plug in for the day at 120v and declared she didn't like that at all. I'm hoping the Model Y alleviates all her range anxiety.

It looks like we have the same configuration. I originally placed an order (03/30) a demo LR7/20/Tow/Red with less than 100 miles. I couldn't pick up the vehicle in time and it was given to someone else. I was told I should have a match within 1-10 weeks. I hope to receive a VIN in the next few days as everything is already paid for.

I ordered two days before you. My delivery estimate has stuck to 16 days out for the past 16 days.
I have noticed that VINs started showing up on the US west coast a bunch a week ago, and have started showing up farther and farther east. Maybe they'll come North sometime.

I could have taken delivery for a white MY as I received VIN on 3/24, but a late decision change and we made a new reservation to a MSM MY on 3/25 and the system estimated time is 1-10 weeks originally. At the beginning SA said they will match me with a car by mid April. Around the 4/10 I reached out and he now said there's no inventory and will have to wait for the system to match us a car and there's nothing they can do but to wait. The ETD has been changing but not as much as some of the other users.
Some of the ETD changes are as follows:
04/12 ETD: 05/02-05/22
04/13 ETD: 05/03-05/23
04/14 ETD: 04/25-05/15
04/17 ETD: 04/26-05/16 (up until today 04/21) but no VIN hope its a good indication that it's not adjusting daily.

I live 40 mins from factory.

My estimated dates: the end date has remained 5/6, but my start date keeps creeping up a day, always 2 days ahead (today, its 4/23). Does this mean anything??

Doubtful. my start date for the past two weeks has creeped up a day, always keeping 16 days out. I'm guessing why I get 16 and you 2 has to do with distance from the factory and crossing the border. I actually emailed my SA today to ask and he responded quickly saying that we're just waiting for a VIN to be assigned to me.

The Date changed yesterday to May 5-May 16. Had been as far out as June 2. SA said last week looked like first week of May for me. Seems pretty accurate. Saw the VIN by checking my account.

I thought it was going to say my delivery was scheduled but it just gave some basic information about next steps (nothing I hadn't already seen on tesla.com). I'm curious if this is any indication that my VIN is going to be assigned soon?

Check w SA: nothing important , just an automated email from [email protected]
They may just start working on your car and will give you the VIN soon

I was told the same.

september would be a perfect time, high chance of tax credit, more money to put down. We ordered in April. The next person in my state waited 73 days for theirs in a similar config

Update on my delivery estimates. For the first time the later date move closer. Yesterday was May 8 - May 24, now May 9 - May 23. Only 1 day closer, but it did shrink. Earliest date is stubbornly staying at 16 days from now, but if they've shored up the later date hopefully it means something.

This is my chart of estimated dates since I got the first one. The skips are when there was no dates shown.

You should try to plot it as a GAANT, where each bar represents the start and end date of the delivery window. Every row would represent a day going back as far as you can. Looks like it shows up with a 16 day window, gets bumped forward for ~16 days or so and then they pull it and you start all over

I don't think that would show any more info, and I think it would make it more cluttered.

I've been expecting delivery on mid-May even when the dates were Apr 20 - May 6, at this point, I think I'm mainly waiting for them to remember to deliver to central Canada. There seems to be some pattern, where they were delivering a bunch to the west coast of the US a week or two ago, now they're getting to central US and US east coast. Probably next will be west coast of Canada, and they'll work east.

Surprise here, the ETD actually shrunk by 1 day after being a no show for a day. The first ETD is only 2 days away, does that mean anything?

This could make sense if in fact deliveries are March, June, Sept, Dec. Im fine with them taking as long as possible. More money for me to put down, chances of tax rebate passing. As long as I get it this year Ill be happy.
