Acceleration Boost Question

While waiting for my MYLR, and trying to digest all the information that I can get, I stumbled over the AB software feature.
I am wondering if AB will reduce your range even when you don't use it, but have it installed (when driving like grandma).

I doubt it will have any negative effect on range in that case because the HW is all the same, but would like to make sure ....

No effect until you exercise your right foot. The driving modes change from Chill and Normal to Chill and Sport.

No affect. We got it because we thought it would be handy to have extra horsepower when towing our trailer. (It isn’t but the car is way more fun).

it shouldnt, just a quicker acceleration.
