Almost July now. When is the final announcement?

Elon said late-July or end-July on a couple of occasions months ago, and since things always slip a little, but still with a desire to not have it slip into August, I expect July 31. But this won't be the Part 3 reveal — that's been going on for the last few months. We've all now seen the exterior and interior in great detail, and it's been a real treat. Part 4 will just be specifications and the configurator (not that those aren't very important). Of course there will be an event. Announcement of the date one to two weeks in advance.

I just got an invite to a Tesla Weekend Social event on July 9th. Looks like it's for the solar roof and Powerwall, not the Model 3. I'm still going to attend. :)
Just you wait and see... they'll pull a switcheroo at the last minute and turn that into the Model 3 final reveal! Just like they'll swap out the decoys and show us the REAL steering wheel, dashboard, key card/fob, HUD, hatchback, wheels, roof, battery sizes, etc. ;)

You never know! They are having Tesla Weekend Socials all across the country that day...

Serious question, but doesn't Tesla need to have the Model 3 EPA certified before delivering even the employee-only 3's first? If they are going to count as real sales, Tesla needs the Monroney sticker on those cars, so doesn't that mean an EPA rating is imminent?

Possibly, but remember that most manufacturers do their own testing and then report the results to the EPA. So, Tesla may well know exactly what the EPA rating is and just not be ready to tell anyone yet.

Here's a clue, find out SpaceX plans for July because it will happen when things are quiet there.

Good thought but not much help. Next launch is scheduled for July 4th to launch Intelsat 35e into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) followed by SpaceX CRS-12, a cargo resupply mission to the International Space station on August 10th. Some indication now that the Intelsat launch will actually be moved up to July 2nd.

Has anyone ever seen the back door open on the RCs? I bet you they are actually FWD ;)
