I received my VIN of 355xxx born on Jan 13, it has the Intel chip:( I'm stuck with the dilemma of accepting the order or canceling it. If I cancel, I'll lose the $250 + the $1000 price increase. I plan on having the car until the wheels fall off. I feel as if the Intel won't age as well. What to do?
If you can wait a year, I expect price drops once Austin plant is producing at 5K a week and demand is satiated. You likely get FSD computer 2 and 4680 battery.

Congrats. My pick-up is at 2 today in Burbank. Hope mine come in in a good condition. After a multiple-EDD-change wait, let's just hope that I can simply enjoy the car!!!
We probably passed right by each other!
I picked up in burbank at 2pm with my GF - made her take a photo of me with it hahaha. Was in the Metallic Silver MYLR.
Traded in my 7 year old Honda and was seamless process

Also happy to report to the forum it’s got the AMD and was told it has the Lithium Ion battery but not sure how to fully check without taking off the frunk stuff - anyone know of an easy way to check?

This is awesome. Congrats!! What does your VIN look like? I’m taking delivery of my MYLR by the end of Feb.

If you think cars built 2 weeks ago won’t last as long as cars built today, why would you ever buy a car? There are model 3s that are entering age 5 with no issues relating to the Intel chip. The fact that Tesla is not planning a retrofit for AMD means future software updates are planned to be Atom compatible. If they were planning to split software based on processor (like computer OS) then they’d likely off a retrofit to allow you to get latest and greatest.

Just got my VIN for my M3LR 156xxx and delivery person who called me said it was an intel. Currently being built in Fremont with delivery date at end Jan for Chicago. She could easily check the MCU, said it’s in their computer system (for folks whose SA says they can’t). I told her to release my VIN. I’m in no hurry and just picked up my MY7 seater in Dec and sold my 2018 M3LR RWD last month.

Yup, looks like the M3LR production line may not have made the transition yet based on recent M3LR deliveries as reported here and in the other AMD thread.

Just spent the hour looking at all the cars on the receiving/staging lot with access from a cool delivery center tech. Everyone of the model Ys we sat in has an AMD (~25 Y MYLR and MYPs)

This is the oldest for an example. All the cameras looked the same as well. Sorry if we sat in one that is yours. They had plastic though.
