FYI. i called the main tesla number to ask about this text. they said that i would need to call their delivery service person to see about scheduling my delivery and gave me their number. I called the delivery service number and they told me they had me scheduled for home delivery and asked when i wanted to schedule my appointment. Ends up I got scheduled for saturday morning. a couple of moments later i got an email confirming the delivery and my delivery date now shows up on my account. we will see how this all works out. i had my loan application all set up but now i just need to get the MVPA and go fill out all of the paper work. Oh yeah, and put the 240V outlet in the garage. i hope it comes fully charged.

the reality of everything that now needs to happen is starting to freak me out a little. Gotta get my WRX all cleaned and on the market.

I received a different second text last night than everyone else. I did not answer 'yes' or 'no' to the initial, but with a couple sentence answer about what would have to happen to take delivery by Sunday (it's in a previous post).

Their answer "We appreciate the quick response! We ahve passed your request onto the Delivery Advisor assigned to your account. They will reach out directly to address your questions. In the meantime, are you able to take delivery by Sunday?"

Since the conditions for me to take delivery Sunday were open and process my trade and send me my mvpa to get to my bank for loan I responded: "Only if I can get trade in authorized tomorrow and the mvpa to get the loan tomorrow" which would now be today, Thursday.

There's no way they're going to be able to do this I suspect, and I have heard nothing further from them, or my DA that I apparently have (no contact at all from that person yet).

But at least this means hopefully early October is a possibility.

This is exactly my experience. Received the same text from Tesla, and I sent an almost identical response.

40 minutes till the appointment window showing in the web opens. Tesla shows no signs of life, either communication-wise or the phone app. (this is the second appointment yet).

Update: Aha! There is life in Fremont after all... ok. Got a call, they are about to head out. Traffic permitting, they'd be quite close to the appointed time.

So I got my car yesterday (Blue AWS (Non-P) with 19" wheels and no EAP). Delivery to my home in Sunnyvale and it went well... Originally scheduled for next Wed, but I got a call on Thursday last week asking if I wanted it this week. No brainier, moved it up to yesterday.

Received my final purchase agreement Tuesday at noon, passed this to my credit union and the they had the check ready for me at 11:30 yesterday for a 2pm drop off at my house. Got a phone call from Tesla Tuesday night confirming the 2pm delivery. Got another call yesterday morning to confirm that I had the checks (The money I was putting into it as well as the loan) and to get an updated insurance info (my original one that I put in renewed and so they needed that). I was able to confirm on that call that I have 3 days to do my inspection and report any issues with the car/build.

I got another call at 12:30 saying that the car was ready now if I wanted it delivered early, but I had to say no since my wife was not available until 2pm. Got text messages as the delivery guy was driving over from Fremont updating me on his timing. Quick paperwork signing and walk through and the uber driver showed up about 20 minutes after he arrived to bring him back to Fremont for his next delivery.

The delivery guy I got was a battery engineer from Reno who came down for the week to help with the deliveries. Very friendly and after he left he sent me a text message answering a question I had.

Vin is 11XXXX and had a build date of this month.

It is happening! I got a call this morning from a guy named Chris, who is apparently my delivery adviser. He confirmed my 1:15pm appointment and said that the financing was a go, and that I could either ACH the remaining balance or pay by personal check (!?), so I'll just be bringing my check book instead of grabbing a cashier's check from the bank, I guess. Just added the 3 to my current Ameriprise insurance, and it shockingly is cheaper to insure than the 2017 Volt I'm currently driving at the same coverage. Now just need to cross my fingers and hope that the car doesn't have major issues with it. I'm not super picky (I never even noticed the panel gap/paint issues my 2013 Leaf had until I started reading Tesla forums and seeing complaints about those issues, lol) so minor paint defects/anything that can be easily addressed by a service center should be fine. I can't wait!

First post here. I had to check if anyone else had gotten the same text message (for me, just before midnight EST on Tuesday night). I placed a reservation on the first day back in 2016, and configured my car the same day the AWD model opened up, on May 24. Since then I haven't heard a single dang thing from Tesla, despite calling them twice and being reassured that "your delivery advisor's been assigned and should be calling you". No, they didn't.

Yesterday I replied to the infamous text with an actual message, basically that I'd like to talk to them and giving my cell number. I can take delivery on Friday but I'm out of town on the weekend. I then called Mt. Kisco (I'm in CT), which rang through to Tesla Central, and after a 20+ minute wait they gave me the "delivery team" phone number. The delivery team stated that someone should call me Wednesday or Thursday. Their response was "Thank you for confirming your availability. A team member will be reaching out in the next week or two to discuss when another vehicle will be ready for delivery." Then I replied "Yes", after reading the messages here, and got another response: "Thank you for your quick response! We appreciate you confirming you are available. We will contact you directly once we get a firm date from our logistics team." In the meantime I moved the money, but I'm not making a cashier's check without a firm date and time, and the Tesla app is just a gray screen for me with some Model 3 videos that don't work well.

Any idea what I should do? Would it help to tweet at Elon Musk? :p

Have you made any edits to your order?

You're in the same boat as me even down to the Mt. Kisco delivery center. I'm not expecting anything to happen this weekend and am not going to the bank until someone actually calls me with that "firm date".

Not entirely delivery related but since placing my order, the referral code showed up in my lootbox. I let my brother use it to purchase his Model S last weekend and everything looked good. His purchase showed up in my referral record and he got the free supercharging for life. I went in to check today and my referrals are empty....? Mind you, over the past couple days I got my VIN, MVPA (Signed) and whatnot. Should I contact someone to get this sorted out?

I did - I updated my insurance information back in June when it expired. Silly me - since then it's said, in bold, "A delivery experience specialist is reviewing your changes and will contact you prior to delivery." The configurator has been locked out and I can't change anything else.

I just called the delivery team number again today, asking for an update since (unsurprisingly) they haven't called me back as promised. Now she says I don't have a match, so no VIN, but someone should "definitely be calling me by Sunday". Anyone want to place a bet?

I'm curious what did they give you as the delivery team number?

do we get anything for taking delivery early? this isn't necessarily my first choice to take delivery this fast (2 days notice). it would be great if i could line up a sale of my current car first. either way its not a huge issue just not perfect. But, here i am assuming everything will go according to teslas plan which may not be the case.

There's a rumor that possibly/allegedly you'll get free supercharging for 1 year. If I get a MVPA/VIN and everything works out, I'm definitely going to ask about it, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

So far no first person accounts of this actually happening though.

Called main line again and finally got through. Wanted to tell an actual human (not robot texter) that I was happy to take delivery this quarter but this was the last day I could do it. Well I have a VIN 97XXX! Wohoo! But it's still in Fremont, scheduled to be in Portland by 10/1. Delivery scheduled for 10/1 at 11:30am. I'll take it.

I am now a Tesla owner!
I dropped my temporary vehicle at the Clearbra store and found a lime scooter that I used to scooter 1 1/2 mile south to the Tesla SC. So jumping from one electric vehicle to another. At the Salt Lake SC, I had a 9:00 appointment, waited with another owner to be, till someone with a Tesla shirt walking by finally said "they don't open this door till 10:00" When we asked where we go if we have a 9:00 appointment, we got a puzzled look in response, then they went in a "employee only" door to find out. Finally we got in to get our vehicles. Smooth sailing, my car looked great, I ran through my downloaded checklist, two Tesla reps answering questions as I go. I signed paperwork, gave them my cashiers check, and asked about the die-cast Tesla model. One of the reps smiled and said, "well, since you asked about it, I'll get you one." There are a whole batch of cars parked everywhere there is space to put a car, and a carrier truck loaded with a load of Teslas arrives as I am getting ready to leave. I got in the car and drove down the street, and my seat started buzzing. I thought the car was trying to tell me something, (car approaching, door open, something else I didn't know about) No, none of that. I had accidentally driven off with my cell phone in my shirt pocket, and the Tesla rep's phone in my back pocket. So, back to the Tesla SC. Then I got to drive it 1 whole mile back to the Clearbra store. One of the employees there also had a Tesla 3 and so we chatted about the best coverage and options. He pointed out a couple of small imperfections in the paint (a small ding and a small scratch) that I have to admit I never would have noticed. They are going to do a thorough "paint prep" to determine if there are any items of significance. Unfortunately, I have to be out of town most of next week, so I won't have the opportunity to do the "check everything that could possibly be a problem" until I get back. But everything on my checklist I downloaded seems to be fine, and one of the people who will be putting the PP on my car has a Tesla of his own, (although he put PP on every painted surface, because after all, he works there)

So, even though I do "have" my car, I don't get to drive it more till Friday evening or Saturday morning. But it is delivered. Thank you again to all the people on these forums who were so helpful and informative to get ready for this event.

i've seen a few people have paid with personal check. if no hassles having to get a cashiers check, makes it easier for me

The DA I spoke with today specifically told me they were accepting personal checks for the remainder of September. Must be Tesla removing barriers to get as many sales as possible for the end of quarter push. I was a little tempted to see if I can get them to run my credit card for the balance to get points, but decided I won’t. Just doesn’t seem right considering the percentage charge they get hit with if they do actually let me do it. I like to save a buck and take advantage of any extras available to me, but it just seems like a dick thing to try to do.

umph. Delivered to home. They were almost 30 minutes late for the appointment time, but of course within the window. Looks pretty good. September'18 manufacture date. A barely noticeable dirt on the liner on passenger side, not that i care, and perhaps could be cleaned off easily.

One immediately noticeable defect: A-pillar bulge, driver side. It seems common with these cars though.from what i've read, should be fixable.

Didn't have time to look at much more than interrior/exterior at this point
