My trade in became active today. Filled it out, still have the edit button though... Weird.

For anyone who has gotten an offer, do you get it in email? My car presented as in better condition than it is in. I wanted to note that in a comments section - it has major exhaust issues - but there was none.

If Tesla offers me $1000 and then I take it in and they lower it to $500, how do you make up the spare money? Was planning on brining a cashier's check... Will I get a chance to tell them about the exhaust?

You can order pre-owned Tesla vehicles that are oftentimes kept in the back lot of the larger Tesla sales locations. Such was the case with our Model S - we bought it used, from Tesla, two years ago. Our particular vehicle wasn't listed on Tesla's website, but a Tesla pre-owned sales advisor made it known to us over the phone when I called to inquire. That said, Tesla has no interest in selling used vehicles from other manufacturers.
Interesting! I have seen lots of used Tesla's advertised on CarMax.

Sold my Mazda CX-9 today so I called Tesla to let them know I was changing from trade-in to no trade-in (still financing thru my CU). Yes I know I can do that online, but then I can’t ask them other interesting questions like “Do I have a VIN?’ And “Do I have a DA?” The gentleman I spoke with was very polite and said I do not have either. But then it got interesting. He asked “did you get the email about your delivery window yet?’ And I said no, then he explained that since I have a June (6/29) order date I should be getting an email THIS WEEK with a delivery window asking me to reply with a preference. He said roughly 75% of June orders have received this email already, and the rest of us should get it THIS WEEK.

Now, I fully realize that verbal info from the 888 number isn’t believed to be very accurate, but now I have some hope at least! Thought I would share so everyone else in the “nothing but crickets” club could have some hope as well.

My trade in and financing sections became active today after I emailed about them being grayed out. That being said it looks like my email really had nothing to do with it, they just began activating those today for the recent wave. Submitted my info and we will see how he rest goes! One note is that I ran into issues submitting my photos for the trade in like some others have said but after a few tries I was able to get past the error message.

The home delivery person I had said that at least for home delivery in the bay area they're taking same day personal check or e-check.

That is consistent with what they told me, slightly different but same endpoint.

I got home delivery this afternoon. The experience was a little strange. I got an email saying my car was ready last Thursday and would I like to schedule delivery for 9/20 - 9/29. Before I could respond, I a text asking would I like a delivery slot from Noon-2pm 9/10. I said sure, and got a confirmation email. The website still said nothing. Saturday, a VIN popped, but no payment info, no nothing. Called, emailed, nothing. Web site let me add payment at about 11:30AM. I did it with an electronic check off my brokerage account. I got a call shortly after 1pm from the delivery person, said she would drive the car over, and be there by 2pm. Car showed up at 2pm, 15 minutes of inspection, paperwork, pairing of phones, and the obligatory here's how to not dent your frunk and use the button not the emergency latch on the door. And we were done. The car is very clean, no swirl marks, fit and finish is excellent. Reserved 7/17/17, ordered 6/28. Delivered 9/10/18.
Congratulations!!

Mine edit buttons still there. No vin . Can’t get a loan with no vin or a purchase order. I called three times to talk to Julie I emailed Julie no reply by email or phone
You do know you can call 50 times a day and your still not getting a VIN or car any faster right? I ordered June 26. Didn’t call or email once. On August 28th I got an email saying my delivery was coming up.

We all want the car bad. But bother Tesla ain’t going to do anything but cause the employees to work harder than they should answering questions that you know the answer to already

Chris, I believe that is 99% accurate. There is, apparently, a conspiracy theory floating around that some number of reservations were 'lost'. So, I think a call, as I have made, to verify data is complete and accurate in their system has some peace-of-mind value. But, to be sure, just calling to harass an already overworked publicly facing employee and threaten to get them fired is beyond the pale.

Bring a checkbook. They'll take a personal check for reasonable amounts. After all, if the check bounces they can make sure your new car won't start.

My delivery appointment is showing in my reservation, yes. That's the only thing keeping me from freaking out :)

The delivery scheduler dude hasn't responded to a single email. Sigh.

My guy hasn’t responded either to my request for delivery time change or inquiry as to my financing info since he’s sent 2 emails saying to fill out all info. Today my request for financing info came up and I was approved in about 5 mins, and I called my local service/delivery center and they changed my day. They seem like they are on a schedule, just not responding or wanting to back into accounts. All emails seem canned, but I’m not that surprised given the numbers they are trying to deliver. But I think once you’re in the queue it happens, just on their schedule and mercy.
