I got approved thru tesla today for financing. When do they ask for my papers to prove my income?

I believe you should take all your paperwork with you to the delivery. Verification of facts are quick when you have all your documents in hand. Personally, I have a copy of everything related to this transaction, emails included to ensure any delay is not MY doing ;)

May be time for a peace-of-mind call to ensure everything is in order.

Yeah. I agree. I’ve never called before so it can’t hurt to just make sure I’m not somehow lost in the shuffle. I’ll call later.

Actually, do service centers have the ability to look you up? I’m literally down the street from one at work.

Also, what number are you all calling?

Yes, they can look it up for you. Mine was happy to do it when I stopped in a couple months ago in SLC.

Received email on 9/6 to schedule delivery, confirmed delivery for 9/24.

My Tesla.com portal was updated today to proceed with loan application and trade-in appraisal, though I'm stuck on the latter trying to locate a copy of my current vehicle title.

Congrats! VIN number? Who was your delivery assistant? Hope to see you there, if my delivery assistant ever confirms my 9/24 delivery date. We’ll have to get a quick drag race in before I drop off at detailer same day (don’t trust that soft paint in Chicago!).

I am hoping they ask ahead if tine for paperwork. What if something I put down doesn’t fly with them, at delivery,, your stuck .

No VIN number yet, and I even tried the trick where you add items to your shopping cart when signed into Tesla.com, but nothing displayed. If rates through Tesla banking partners aren't acceptable, I'll press for VIN so I can apply elsewhere.

I'm actually taking delivery in Highland Park, but I do live in the city. I did test drive there and figured it might increase my chances of earlier delivery since it's (presumably) less busy than city or Westmont dealerships, and I'd say that worked...

What are you having done by detailer? Also, any plans to do chrome delete or tinting? If so, would appreciate any recommendations.

Actually, that's a very good question and the answer is YES. I'd do that and avoid a wait. I am sure you are in the system and all is good. Question: Did they actually take your $2500? I ask as maybe you card expired and the info they had was old and the $2500 was denied? Just a thought. You owe it to yourself to make sure all is in order.

I've used the 888 number referenced on your order page.

My delivery is Highland Park as well (closest to Wheeling). I am getting Llumar Stratos film on all windows, which blocks heat as well as sun. Xpel paint protection on whole car and a ceramic coating with GTechniq Crystal Serum over whole car, including glass. They will do full pant correction before doing any work, which could take up to 8 hours with Tesla paint. Chicago Auto Pros in Glenview. They are the best. Not cheap, but neither is my new Tesla and our Chicago winters are not kind to cars......

On the phone with Tesla now. In my account is a confirmed delivery date of 09/22. I called with some questions and happened to ask if I had a VIN. She said no, and said it was "really weird" that I didn't have a VIN, but had a scheduled delivery date. Now I'm super nervous again. Was this mass email that the "Delivery Schedulers" sent just a big mistake? I want my car!!

I'm on hold now while she's looking into it.

UPDATE: She just came back and said that she was out for a week and they _just_ changed SOP so people are matched to VINs at the last minute, as little as a few days before taking delivery. She said as long as I see a scheduled delivery date on my account, it's set in stone and I should for sure have my car by then (barring any last minute issues).

Phew. What a roller coaster.
