Are you supposed to enter the entire VIN or just the last 8 digits?

Have had no contact with Tesla until today. Now that we're in our delivery window of Sept-Nov, we wanted to verify that Tesla has our order. So this morning my husband called the sales department in Highland Park, IL. The guy he spoke to said they would be assigning us a delivery specialist and we would hear from our delivery specialist in a few days. He also said he can see our order in their system, he can't give a better delivery estimate than the Sept-Nov window, they are doing a LOT of deliveries, and the delivery estimates people are seeing on their accounts are accurate. He is 90% sure we will pick up at Highland Park (we are in WI where Tesla has no stores) instead of getting home delivery. A couple of hours later, my husband gets an email from a DSA saying that we can schedule delivery at Highland Park on 9/26 or 9/27. Coincidence?
Watch out .. "RED" is the red flag there ..could be someone else reject that happened today or recently .. congrats and good luck.. hope it is not a reject piece.I just got a call to schedule for delivery on 9/29! I just ordered AWD non-p, Red, 19" wheels, EAP on September 10 - no reservation, no prior owner! Holy cow what a quick turnaround.
From what I've been observing, they like to assign a VIN about seven days prior if possible. My personal guess is that their ambitious goal was that you'd have a VIN assigned by the 17th, but it won't display in your account until the 22nd as you've chosen the 28th. If it looks like it will be in town before the 26th, I think you may receive a call offering to pick it up early. If it doesn't look like it's going to arrive by the 26th, I predict you'll get a delivery delay call. My mistake may have been choosing the 22nd (earliest day in my window) so that's why I got a delay call. If the rumors are true that the VIN stays assigned to you even if they remove it from view in your account, my hope is that I'll get a call offering an earlier delivery than my new date of 10/2 if it comes in sooner than 9/30.

And that car, likely 40%+/- of the time was damaged in transit but you never knew about it. That includes if you ordered that car.

That actually makes sense. I have a Lvl 2 charger for my Prius Plugin that delivers 24a to the car. It'll work just fine on the M3 even at 17 miles / hour of charge. We get a J1772 adapter with the car. I was thinking of buying another one just to keep attached to the charger so the one with the car will be available for trips. They sell them online ($95), maybe they'd have them at a Tesla store. Or floor mats etc. I meant more for the case of, "sorry, $1,000 shy, how about I write you a check".My guess is that the checkbook is more for miscellaneous charges that come up during delivery (adjustment to taxes/fees, I don't know).
Between white and black there are infinite shades of gray. If it's clearly off, my 15+ new car purchases tells me they'll take care of it. If it's a dick measuring contest, yes, I can see the seller saying, do you want it or not, rather than yes master, whatever you say master. This is why it's not your car until you sign the paperwork at that point it's your car. There is a reason there are old adages, specifically, "you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar".Whether it has or not isn't an issue. I'm more concerned with them saying issues are "within tolerances" and trying to blow them off instead of fixing them as was the case from the delivery I linked.
I would call your actual delivery center and ask them. They are the folks giving you the car and taking your money.I have an MVPA in my account. I read some people got links to digitally sign their MVPA but not me. So I reached out to my DA and he mentioned there is no need to sign and that it can be handled and signed at pickup. Others who have the same experience? I know it makes sense to go with whatever they tell me do, but I know there's been plenty of people who got in delivery trouble because of misinformation so figured I would ask here.
I haven't seen anything to indicate that all Tesla vehicles are transported by United Road... is that the case?
If you've got financing they'll need an executed mvpa. Double check what you're looking at isn't the order agreement.I have an MVPA in my account. So after getting the dreaded delivery reschedule call I now get a text asking if I can pick the car up tomorrow. This is so weird.
