So, interesting development today. After seeing others in MN getting end of September dates after their initial delay call, I called Delivery Scheduling one more time to politely inquire if I can get any date sooner than October 1 or onward (very busy week/month for me). They told me that they could not because "all slots before that were full". I thanked them and asked if there was any way to be notified if another opening came up sooner. He indicated that only my IDA can proactively look for openings like that. After I mentioned that my initial IDA had been very unresponsive, I asked who they see as my IDA, only to receive a name totally different than the IDA who contacted me initially to confirm my appointment (and different than the DSA that originally emailed me to schedule, also non-responsive). I asked him if he could have this new IDA contact me.

That person then contacted me a couple of hours later and was WORLDS APART from other reps I've been working with. He was very kind, courteous, texted me afterwards, told me to call anytime, seemed very excited for me, thanked me repeatedly for being one of the people that is making it possible for Tesla to do something historic, and sounded like he genuinely wanted to help. He was able to move me to 9/28 and thought it was strange that the system initially told him all slots were full when he could see that they clearly weren't from some other view he had.

What I thought was interesting, is he mentioned that he had been pulled from another department to help with this, so Tesla is clearly going all out to correct for their delivery issues (something he acknowledged on his own accord).

While he couldn't tell me exactly where my vehicle was, he could confirm that even though my VIN disappeared from the website, it is indeed still assigned to me and it will reappear precisely 7 days prior to my newly scheduled date. He also confirmed that I should see the ACH payment option open 48 hours prior to delivery.
I'm very happy for you! If I am still having failure to communicate issues next Monday I will be looking for new DA too.

Interesting observation — i am exactly 7 days prior to my scheduled delivery according to the calendar entry in my order summary. It says 11 am Indy time but when I add the appt automatically it shows as 2 pm Indy time (11 am Calif time).

Just for kicks i looked at 11 am Indy time today. No VIN.

So I tried 159pm Indy time = No VIN.

Then tried 2pm Indy time /11am Calif time and VIN was there.

The United Road link shows it was delivered from Fremont to Richmond, CA on Sept 15.

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. Scheduled delivery 7 days away (9/26) at 3pm EDT. As of 6pm EDT today (3 hr time diff) I now how a VIN. Prior to 6pm, no VIN.

No MVPA to eSign yet and VIN not found when searching United Road. I'll take it though.

It is crazy how different all the experiences are with this process. It really does feel like all the employees are just being told “go forth and do whatever you can to deliver as many cars as possible before Sept 30th.

I got the initial email on Monday giving me 9/28 or 9/29 as my dates, but no response since confirming 9/28 minutes after that email came in. Also, nothing new on my account pages, I actually checked to make sure the email wasn’t me going crazy. I got my loan approved and can get the cashiers check for the remainder during any bank hours. They just need to take my money, but there is no response, even when you call the local SC where delivery takes place. I may just drive there tomorrow at lunch time if they don’t respond by then.

They are desperate to deliver cars prior to 9/30. They called me today offering a delivery date of 9/29. However, I cannot take delivery prior to 10/2 for various reasons, but they said they are not currently scheduling for October. So here I am waiting for a call again to schedule for October. They said they will call back next week.

According to the AWD / Performance Order Tracker, deliveries scheduled for end of September / Q3 are PACKED. We're talking 1.5% of all tracked orders per day being delivered. Very little in October:

....and suddenly my ACH payment opens today and my final MVPA appears. They must be quite confident about the 9/28 date now. MVPA is not something I can sign electronically but is clearly meant to be signed in person (pickup at SC) as it says "BY SIGNING BELOW, YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN DELIVERY OF YOUR MODEL 3 ON OR BEFORE _______________ AND THAT YOU AGREE WITH YOUR FINAL MOTOR VEHICLE PURCHASE AGREEMENT" and has signatures for me and a delivery experience specialist.

For anyone wondering, the official MVPA is eight pages long versus the default five page order agreement and has my VIN listed (despite there not being any VIN listed on my account any longer since I'm still nine days out from my revised date). It is the same VIN I originally had before it disappeared after the delay call.

Have had no contact with Tesla until today. Now that we're in our delivery window of Sept-Nov, we wanted to verify that Tesla has our order. So this morning my husband called the sales department in Highland Park, IL. The guy he spoke to said they would be assigning us a delivery specialist and we would hear from our delivery specialist in a few days. He also said he can see our order in their system, he can't give a better delivery estimate than the Sept-Nov window, they are doing a LOT of deliveries, and the delivery estimates people are seeing on their accounts are accurate. He is 90% sure we will pick up at Highland Park (we are in WI where Tesla has no stores) instead of getting home delivery. A couple of hours later, my husband gets an email from a DSA saying that we can schedule delivery at Highland Park on 9/26 or 9/27. Coincidence?
Another kick in the balls. Same configuration.

MVPA doesn't mean it's definite. Had mine since Sunday morning and got the call this morning to move delivery back 6 days.

I agree it seems to contradict each other. My guess is that the checkbook is more for miscellaneous charges that come up during delivery (adjustment to taxes/fees, I don't know). I do know that Cashier's checks can be canceled with a stop payment. According to USAA it takes 90 days (!!) for it to clear after a stop payment request, which sucks because then that holds the money for 3 months. Either way, without a response to emails with questions I am left with the information they decided to provide me via email.

I spoke to my delivery center yesterday and asked about payment. The associate said “you can pay by personal check.“ So I clarified and asked if I could pay the full $60k+ balance with a personal check and he said yes, customers do it all the time. He further clarified that they prefer ACH because believe it or not people forget their checkbooks when they are going to purchase their car.

Not sure if there are differences by state. I’m not necessarily going to rely on this information, but he answered without hesitation and seemed sure of the answer. I’m still going to bring my checkbook, ACH information, wire transfer info, cashiers check, travelers checks, gift cards to Applebee’s, monopoly money, etc. just in case…

Exactly the same. Hoping no news is good news, but not counting on it.

Are you cash/Lightstream buyer? Seems like a tight window to get a loan approved without the VIN and having insurance prior to picking up the car. I'm scheduled 7 days from now (9/26) and I'm freaking out as I always have everything lined up and ready to go... I'm not a last minute kind of person and this process is killing me :)

Not in Canada they don't. Not even the first payment (I'm financing through Tesla / Aviva) - need a bank draft.

Assuming I'm still good for 9/30, I've progressed to the lightning round. I'm officially in Contracts. My CU rep has IDA contact info and IDA has CU contact info. I'll dbl check delivery date and physical location of car tomorrow.

For people who have progressed thru this gauntlet, from move into contracts to MVPA how long was that duration?
