So uh I just got this text:

Hi Frank, My name is XXXX and I work with Tesla’s Delivery Scheduling Team. I am reaching out today to schedule your delivery! We are available to schedule your delivery as soon as 9/29/2018 The VIN will be made available to you approximately 24-48 hours prior to pick-up. Please let me know your availability at your earliest convenience. You can reach me at (888) 771-2505 xXXXX. I look forward to hearing from you!

Called back and I am scheduled for 1pm on Saturday. Yowzers. Let's hope it actually happens, and that the car is in good shape.

Ok, so this has turned out to be a crazy day.

I decided to go ahead and call CS one more time today and inquire about the text. I got the most amazingly helpful individual. Not only did she say she’d look to see if she could find a match, she also removed the remaining barriers to the site (namely trade-in and financing) so I could complete those steps.

In the span of 2 hours, I’ve literally been approved for financing and received a call from a DS. While I can’t take delivery anymore this weekend, they’re going to schedule me for early next week once the trade-in completes.

Wow.

FYI. i called the main tesla number to ask about this text. they said that i would need to call their delivery service person to see about scheduling my delivery and gave me their number. I called the delivery service number and they told me they had me scheduled for home delivery and asked when i wanted to schedule my appointment. Ends up I got scheduled for saturday morning. a couple of moments later i got an email confirming the delivery and my delivery date now shows up on my account. we will see how this all works out. i had my loan application all set up but now i just need to get the MVPA and go fill out all of the paper work. Oh yeah, and put the 240V outlet in the garage. i hope it comes fully charged.

the reality of everything that now needs to happen is starting to freak me out a little. Gotta get my WRX all cleaned and on the market.

Are you shheduled for pick up at Mt. Kisco? I was scheduled on Monday 09/24 for Mt. Kisco pickup for 09/29 stating VIN will be available soon and delivery advisor will contact me to answer my questions. So far no contact from delivery advisor....:)

yes Mt. Kisco -- maybe the same person will call us tonight...

Funny thing - I had called the Westchester mall Tesla on a whim this AM to see if they had any AWD non-Ps in inventory and right after I talked to the delivery scheduling team and set up the appointment for Saturday, I got a call from the Westchester mall Tesla saying they found a white AWD for me (I had said that would be a fine color for me) -- had to turn that one away - was white interior anyway which I did not want. So FWIW anyone in the NYC area, if you want a white/white AWD non-P there is one in Manhasset without anyone's name on it as of 5 minutes ago.

I did - I updated my insurance information back in June when it expired. Silly me - since then it's said, in bold, "A delivery experience specialist is reviewing your changes and will contact you prior to delivery." The configurator has been locked out and I can't change anything else.

I just called the delivery team number again today, asking for an update since (unsurprisingly) they haven't called me back as promised. Now she says I don't have a match, so no VIN, but someone should "definitely be calling me by Sunday". Anyone want to place a bet?

Dont worry about that mesaage. I had the same message and it didn't stop a vin getting assigned. I got a delivery scheduled and vin assigned and the account was still was locked out for me. It wasn't until the second conversation with my ISA that he said oh one sec let me fix that and resolved the insurance for me.

Took delivery this morning. Awd non-P/Solid black/black interior/19” wheels/EAP. Ordered in early August. The car was nearly perfect. The only thing I could find is one piece of window trim not aligned perfectly. Home delivery. The person delivering the car was super friendly and didn’t rush me inspecting or anything.

Don’t stress out, I think we just hear way more about the nightmare deliveries than the cars in great condition. Most people probably get a car in perfect or near perfect condition and don’t post here.

Well I am not so optimistic as you :) because I have been waiting for DA (Hector..) call from last 3 nights ;)

Figure I'd share my story thus far regarding the mass text (early August order w/ Oct-Dec delivery estimate).
-received text late Tuesday night
-responded yes 1st thing Wednesday morning
-Wednesday night received text back saying that someone would be contacting me
-Thursday around lunch received call from Tesla in Vegas saying mass text was an error and no cars currently linked to my account
-Thursday afternoon received text saying I can pick up at Cleveland SC on Saturday and to call and schedule
-I call central scheduling and get assigned appointment for Saturday at 10:30 am
-I call local Cleveland SC to confirm and nice but clearly fatigued employee tells me there is no car there assigned to me and it would be extremely unlikely to be there by Saturday

We'll see what come next. Good thing Tesla built such a great machine

This was Quick... Too quick.

Tues 11PM CST: From Tesla: asking if I can take a car by end of week. (Typical text)
Wed 6AM: Responded Yes. During the day applied for a loan 2.99 for 60 months. Called Tesla several times and they had no idea regarding next steps and advised to wait.
Thur: 8AM: Sent a text back to the 510 #. "Loan approved. Waiting for MVPA to cut check"
Thur: 2:30PM: From Tesla Text: Hi, this is XXX, Can you take delivery Saturday 9-11am?
Thur: 3:00PM: Called the scheduler from the text who confirmed my appt at 9AM! Was advised I may not get a VIN until about 2 hours prior!! WTF!! Bank won't cut a check w/o a VIN, and they won't open til 9! Dice is rolling... Hope I get the VIN tomorrow!!
Update: Thur: 5:25PM: Tesla page has my appt info and home address:

My delivery has been scheduled for Oct 1 for a while. Got a VIN yesterday, but had no contract. I need to fund on my loan and, as you know, the signed contract is required to do that. I called the Salt Lake City delivery center and left a message stating that I'd love to bring a check with me to my appointment on Monday, but that requires a contract by Friday. I received it in my email 2 hours later. Someone checked their VM :)

IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE TEXT CALL (888) 771-2505 I WAS ABLE TO GET MY DELIVERY SCHEDULED WITHIN 5 MINS OF TALKING WITH THEM!!! Good Luck guys!!

Glad it worked for you, but I had no such luck.

I called and told the obviously tired rep that I received the text stating that a Model 3 matching my order is available (that horrible, horrible text). I then explained that I heard it might be possible to call this number and find an available car with matching specs that was available near my area. She replied with, "Let me see what I can find." The exhaustive search didn't take half a second because she replied immediately to tell me that my car was not available and I would contacted when delivery could be scheduled.

It's not that big of a deal, but the wording in that text was just a big mistake.

I got the same story and a “sorry for the inconvenience, but it should be in October” response.
