How was your delivery experience and the car itself?

I'm picking up my car from IC on Sept 28. Trying to keep expectations low ><

I paid with cash and had trade-in. Not sure if it’s any less hassle than financing.
Anyway. Arrived there on time my appointment. Waited 10-20 min for a person to see me (they’re swamped). Went over MVPA. signed stuff (5 min). Had a trade-in guy that took 2-5 min. Signed title. Pass on keys. And he took the license plate off for us (gave to us later while we were looking at our model3).
After paper is signed, we were passed onto a lady who went over the basics of the car with us. ~10 min.
Even after watching tons of videos and reading online forums, I still needed some time getting used to the vehicle. We took the car into the sun then gave us the title and they left. And the car was ours! and I did my 360 check. Took off the aero to make sure rim is ok. Found the charging cable in the center console, and installed myself (bottom rail is a slide lock). Any issues we find we have to report within 72 hours. Take pictures and make a record. I have a minor panel alignment at rear left. Can’t notice without closeup. I’ll make note of it to see if SC can fix when I eventually bring it in.

Tl;dr. Short and simple delivery experience. Nothing stands out. I have my things ready, and they have their stuff ready. Sign stuff. Go over basics. Get car. Check for issues. Enjoy!

I’m typing on mobile so I’m lazy to change grammar n wording. Hope it makes sense.

Thanks for this.

I'm curious though, did you see the car before signing and handing over your cheque?

Lost my VIN and delivery date.. was supposed to be Sep 25 @ IC. Now it shows Sep-Nov and VIN is gone. WTF Tesla?
Experience is now at -5/10, dropping from 0/10
Crap. Have you gotten any word from your DA on why? I'm assuming you haven't. I'm getting really nervous because I'm scheduled for thursday and am handing over my car on wednesday and taking the go train to the IC for pickup. I need a car for work commuting.

Hopefully its just their system messing things up, but the fact that you were supposed to be tomorrow and this is happening now is making me worried there are a bunch of cars stuck at the border....Who is your DA?

Forget about any word on 'why'.. there has been no word about ANYTHING. It just happened when I happened to login. I was also nervous because it was scheduled for tomorrow and there was no MVPA or anything else... Have you had any further communication confirming a Thursday delivery?

Last communication I had was early last week when I was sent a pro forma invoice for getting the bank draft and insurance sorted. I had a follow up question regarding the amount as it didn't match with the estimate on my account, and my DA responded later that night.

I did send an email friday asking if the car was in country, and left a VM this morning but haven't heard anything back yet. My account still shows thursday, but that may not mean much. If I wasn't so far away I would drive there and walk the lot myself while I still have a car

If you call the main tesla line can they not escalate it? If you do get through and explain the situation I think they should be able to provide some explanation (me being optimistic....). I've seen others have success going that route when they dont have the MVPA the day before....or maybe it went away because they are about to upload it. Hopefully it works out for you.

I had similar experience when I order Model S last year. VIN changed to another one during the process, I had to inform my insurance company to update, all other document I sent was gone, had to upload again. Was annoying, they didn't even notice my Delivery Specialist. Good thing was my DS has been contacting me almost everyday to update me something and very responsive. Everything sorted out in the end, they changed my VIN to move up production queue a bit I believe.

The last time I called, the person on the phone said the system is reporting "No information available"... even though I had a VIN and delivery date. Seriously, this is a disappointing experience. I reserved a long time, I've saved up a lot to buy this car.. it is suppose to be a great and fun experience especially spending so much money. But the opposite it true. It is causing me more stress trying to have to deal with Tesla.

I was told 2 days before my delivery date by my sales advisor (not delivery specialist) that 2 out 4 red P3D+ Cars scheduled to be delivered on the same day as mine were rejected by the delivery team. I was “lucky” to get a car with fewer defects that wasn’t rejected. Hopefully, you get a car soon that doesn’t have issues.

Maybe call our delivery specialist to confirm? Did you take screenshot when they gave you delivery date?

Well, after the complete lack of communication, and this miserable experience, I'm about 50% of the way there to just cancel this order. I really do want the Tesla... my current vehicle is rock solid and should last another 5-6 years without trouble. I guess I can just wait until there are some inventory cars around and maybe pick up a Tesla in the future?

I don't know your case for sure, but I find the website very unreliable. I never had all checkboxes even though I've now picked up my car Saturday. If I go to my account now, I've gone backwards two checkboxes!

I'd try and get ahold of your IDA and confirm. Fingers crossed for you, @dusdev!

Lol, you must have ordered during the un-advertised 2 for 1 weekend special and are getting another one this weekend :)

If you don’t mind me asking, how was your trip to the IC and your delivery experience? I’m “scheduled” to pick up Wednesday but still getting confirmation on bill of sale and trade in payout...
How’s the car too? ;)

I'm scheduled for delivery on Wednesday at 3 PM and have yet to receive any further e-mails or contact from the ISDA after a number of e-mails. These guys are cutting it down to the wire. I recall their initial e-mail that indicated the contract details will be generated 48 hours prior to delivery. That's in less than 2 hours. Crossing my fingers I don't get an e-mail like @dusdev
