Interesting video discussing hybrid offerings from audi and bmw.
Good defence by Andrea James but wish she called out how i8 is not an electric and that model s is the safest car ever as other person was fawning over bmw quality and suggested Tesla not as good.

"BMW says the i8 sprints from zero-62 mph in 4.4 seconds. It has a range of up to 22 miles and a top speed of 75 mph on electric power alone." How does this even compare to a Model S? Its also $136,625 base. A maxed out Model S is $122,020. This is like a Fisker Karma all over again

This guy is a great reporter. And he says it is 'not fair' to compare the Performance Model S that is $15,000 cheaper to the 'base' $136,000 i8 because there might be a faster i8 out someday and you can only compare 'performance' versions of cars.

His logic doesn't make sense. since we can compare base versions of cars, a fair comparison would be to compare a base Bugatti with a base Toyota Camry?

AWD S fully loaded will put this argument to rest as it will be less than a stock i8 and faster and have more room for passengers/cargo and go farther and it is an EV with a SuperCharger network.

Yes, the i8 is sportier looking and I do actually like the way it looks if you must know.

His argument had no leg to stand on. He's dealing with commenters who know a lot more about the subject that he's trying to argue than he does. He is an amateur that is going up against professionals. In the end, he got his ass handed to him. Kinda sad really, his points were complete rubbish.

I wish she had mentioned that Toyota is using Tesla battery packs for their Rav4 EV. Also the fact that the i8 gets only 22 miles on electric - these cars don't even belong in the same category.

Sounds like the i8 is a 2-door Volt on BMW steroids. But its range is even less than the Volt's. How poor is that?
